Huge if Vallincius can get thru this 7th inning and save the pen. Pitch count isn't high but it's the most he's thrown all year. Need him to grind it out here.

Agreed. Huge outing. A 7-inning, 2-hit, shutout on the day of a doubleheader. The bullpen didn’t have to get up and down, up and down.

BOC caught hell on this page for not bringing in Davis last night. I think that was the wrong move, personally. In any event, I wouldn't have brought him in here. I would've tried Pitzer and saved Davis for game 2.
