Sort of surprising that Georgia gets the same odds that we do. Didn't realize they were expected to be that strong this season.

Yeah don't get that one.

Arkansas at 18-1 is my favorite

Wes Johnson has built a good program there. Mostly through the portal. I don't think they win a NC. But SR, maybe Omaha? Yeah I could see that maybe.

BA has them ranked high. Very veteran team that portaled heavily

SEC is The League. 8 of the Top-10 in one league. All those teams have quality and talent.
That's not including Texas A&M and Florida that have 4 projected 1st Rounders in their rosters.
This is why dudes saying 17-13 in the SEC is a poor-record are not factoring opponent quality.
But also why having 23 year-olds like Chance, Frei, Sullivan, Vystal Val and Stallman could be a huge positive x-factor.

i got state at 17-1 1st day you could bet on the cws. before that it was 24.

I got us at 18-1 about a week ago. Unfortunately there were 4 SEC teams with better odds than us.

I was not a big fan of Arkansas gifting LSU another title last year. They either need to get it done or DVH needs to be put to pasture. Arkansas in Omaha all but guarantees they will flame out and, like last year, allow some jackass fanbase to celebrate another(lsu)/first ever(ole miss 2022) CWS Title.

As an MSU fan, I am too busy with my own pain to give a damn about Arkansas.
UGA is interesting because they got 2 top-5 ranked transfer pitchers. Team USA guys. 1st Rounders. But both had 6.00 ERAs at Stanford so maybe they are showcase Divas that don't really know how to compete but have MLB tools.

We also have two Team USA guys in our rotation- Valinicus and McPherson. Our series should be interesting to say the least.
The pitcher from Stanford can throw 100 MPH. But he was wild and hittable at Stanford. His success depends on if Wes can get him right or not. If not- he is the American version of Eric Cerentola.
I know fans discussed him in the offseason but I don't think we really pursued him very hard. He was very expensive and honestly is very high risk. And we already have four legit guys competing for three weekend spots not to mention William Kirk who has great stuff but also needs development. The difference is Kirk has at least two years to work on it.
If he had a lower price tag we may have gone for it but I don't think we were a fit for each other.

Flat 100 mph goes the other direction quickly. There’s throwing 100 and pitching 100 they are vastly different.

Exactly. And we don't have enough innings for him to figure it out. Plus he was at Stanford. It's not like he was at Arkansas Tech where who knows how good the coaching is there.

UGA has two lottery tickets they are hoping to convert into Liam Doyles or Khal Stevens. Everyone wanted this Stanford dude, he was rated #2 best player in the transfer portal. People expect him to be good in 2026, we will see.
Minime is going to be able to sell his work with Todd Skeens for years to come. For big portal scores.

Not everyone wanted Volchko. LSU and Arkansas didn't want him for the same reasons MSU didn't. Skenes was way more polished coming out of Air Force than this guy is. Paul Skenes is a guy that you know would be your Friday night ace as soon as he stepped on campus coming out of Air Force. Joey Volchko is much more comparable to Cerentola than Skenes. Same thing- if Cerentola had been able to put it together he would have been a Friday/Sat guy and I say that because we had JT Ginn for most of the time Cerentola was here. FWIW there aren't any mock drafts that he is showing up for as far as the first round goes. Now, if he performs then yes. But it remains to be seen.
