    Mens basketball and Jans

I know we have a long road ahead of us to make the tournament and I was very critical of this team earlier along with Jans' coaching. But when I see improvements I have to talk about it. This team and rotation is getting better. While undersized, Epps and Hubbard are becoming a great offensive 1 - 2 punch. Hubbard has always needed a fearless running mate and Epps is just that. I worried about him earlier in the season but he has a calm demeanor about him that I love... he can put up alot of points too. I didnt care for Macaru earlier in the season either but he is figuring out his role, Ballard is figuring out his defensive role and clogging the paint, Achor is showing what he can do with his rebounding, shot blocking as well and learning his role.

Im not saying we have everything figured out, but I see a tremendous amout of improvement. I also am saying that Im cheering for Utah, Memphis and Georgia Tech (barely lost to Duke the other day, currently playing Syracuse) to go get some good wins to help us. The win @Texas helps also.. If you have watched all the games like I have, you can see the improvement.

Oh, and please stop the Hubbard bashing.. yes he has limitations but we wouldn't be anywhere close to having this record if it wasn't for Josh Hubbard.

Agree. We always start out a little slow as Jans plays with the lineups in out of conf to see who he will play.

This team has improved. Hubbard is just a lethal weapon and we have a chance every game he plays in. Epps is a great mate in backcourt. He and Hub are among best backcourts in SEC.

Achor I really like - good size, rebounds, he can score too, he moves well. Just a really good player. He needs to play a lot of minutes. Like what Flemming, Ballard, Macura and Jones bring at different times.

McGee is still a mystery to me what Jans is doing. I think he needs to play more as he can explode at any given time. I know we are too short to play all 3 guards.

I didn't think we could 2-3 weeks ago but I can see this team contending for post season now and even NCAA chance. One game at a time. Get next one Wed.

Having two guards that can fill it up is how you win in CBB. Hate we dug ourselves a hole to get out of

Yea, the McGhee situation is a little odd. Mghee also tweeted out some things that were concerning but Jans addressed it in the media and said he felt everything was OK with McGhee.

Not sure I fully agree with starting slow under Jans and getting better as the year goes on. Year 1 we did improve in conference play but our schedule was more manageable the 2nd half. Year 2 and especially last year we got worse as the year went on. This is the first year we did poor in non conference under Jans. That being said, we have definitely gone in the right direction this year and I would much rather start slow and end great. Outside Vandy, Ark, Bama (2) @UK and @UF there is nothing on the schedule that is that scary since the SEC is down. We really need to win the other ones outside the ones I mentioned above to be a solid tournament team.
