I couldn't care less - like I said, my source is my son that is a Junior at that God-forsaken school. Have no idea exactly where he is getting the infor or the validity of it. Just having some fun getting to contribute to the rumor mill for once since I never have info.

I could see them staying. I don't see this happening in the next 48 hours though. But hey, the transfer portal and early signing day has royally screwed the schedule to the point of where something like this is even plausible.

I also don't think he's going to make any decision before first seeing what OM's top offer is and what Florida's offer is. I mean CAA and Sexton would be negotiating against themselves if that was the case.

Should be interesting if the Kiffin fam was really in Gainesville this weekend as well. Maybe it turns into an all out bidding war. The $13.5 number still makes me doubt the LSU story. I have to think UF would beat that number. Maybe the LSU NIL number is good enough that Lane realizes the contract $ number isn't as important as being at a school where two coaches who really weren't that great won NCs and he is the only P4 school in a talent rich state that also can pull talent pretty easily out of Fla, TX, AL, & MS, plus has enough national reach as well to get great talent. On top of that, he can easily show portal players a history of success.

Ha, I would honestly love it if the one time I brought rumor info to the board, it turned out to be right. I tend to doubt the 48 hrs as well, but sometime this week doesn't seem too far-fetched to me since it is a bye-week for OM and LSU will certainly want him in place for the portal.

I mean OM has given him an ultimatum that they want an answer by the Egg Bowl. Presumably before. So the thought process I would think from Lane's side is that if we're not going to sign an extension then we're not getting into game prep. You would have to think game prep will start either Friday or Saturday for them. So I guess they have basically a little over 96 hours to decide which way this thing goes. I do think the longer they go in the week the higher the possibility he stays at OM

Don't get too jovial. If Ole Miss is good at anything, it's mind games. This is probably nothing more than a Flipmas thing where they put out all kinds of info that Lane is going to LSU, then he signs the contract extension/new deal, and they start crowing how they "beat LSU" with a last-second deal to keep LK. It's actually not a crazy idea, and they would totally do it. They are masters of marketing. State could take a few lessons from them.
