Shapen bears a lot of responsibility for the loss to Florida and only a little bit for Texas. But either way, it's Lebby who is putting him in the position to do it. The buck stops with him.

Lol. Not happening.

Hell, Tennessee has been in the gutter for over a decade and is just now making it out...we don't have those resources, so if you were expecting a major turnaround instantly your expectations are off. Lebby has made a ton of mistakes but that's to be expected. We lack depth. Just like Ole Miss lacked depth for many years under Kiffen. If we had Fluff or that dude that's out on defense we're probably at 6 wins right now.

We are 3 plays from 7-1. The frustrating part is there are about 10 plays in those three games if we just make one of them we win. We are so close and that is the frustrating part. i think Lebby needs to be given another year and he will. If he doesn't win SEC game and go bowling next year he is gone and every coach understands that.

The limitations of the OL are much more restrictive on the situational play calling don?t you think?

And if that happens we will be a top 5 opening after the gutting that is coming this season. We will have a lot more interest and a better field of potential candidates available.

It is just getting really hard to still believe when I watch us continually s*** the bed in late game situations and not be able to close teams out.
Tennessee: Up 3 with 14 to go, execute a perfect fake punt and immediately give up a sack+scoop and score to give them the lead. Just run the ball and bleed the clock.
Florida: Run the ball, kill the clock, and kick the GW FG
Texas: Run the ball, bleed the clock, and get 1st downs.
We also missed very makeable FG in all 3 games.
We do the big things well enough. We are not good at the details and little things.

Definitely more restrictive on the execution. That is the worse unit on the team. By far. And getting worse every week.

Yep, this year is not the year for a coaching search. If a good coach making a jump wants a good opportunity, MSU shows it is the place.

I haven't looked at the stats but I thought the OL did a decent job. They gave up a few sacks but many were on blitz where we didn't have enough blockers. Shapen didn't read some of them and that is on him. Could see plain as day from my seats. That is a presnap read he has to know what to do and fetal position isn't it.

RT is definitely a problem spot.

Nice try Mrs. Lebby?.in all seriousness, I?m not for firing Jeff to lose some more next year with a new guy and everyone also want to fire him. Give Lebby 1 more year without having the toughest schedule in the country. If he can?t do it next year, good riddance.

The schedule's not going to be any easier next year. It hasn't even been that hard this year, with Florida and Texas hugely underachieving except when Lebby giftwraps them a win.

In my gut I think Lebby is the guy. However, I don't think we'll see it until year 3. He's had murders row for a schedule for 2 consecutive years. I give him a hard time but I really do like him and see potential. He just has to find a way to keep these kids fighting.

Selmon has got to sell year three to the boosters. Winning at Arkansas and being competitive in the remaining games goes a long way. Winning at Arkansas and upsetting one of the final three, especially if it is OM, would certainly open up some checkbooks. We need some retention and another really good portal haul.

This schedule hasn't been as tough as we thought it would be. Florida and ark have interims, and Texas is a huge disappointment.

This schedule is going to be even harder next year. If this year is too hard for poor ol' Lebby, it's not going to be any better next year.

Next year on paper by names looks difficult but the teams are beatable. If nothing else this year has proven the team can play with anyone.

You can't predict schedule difficulty anymore. There's too much room for fluctuation in teams year in and year out.

Agreed, he choked. I believe those things are fixable. He needs to develop his situational coaching and those things are fixed.

A dumb person can't just "develop" intelligence. Lebby is who he is going to be.
