Interlocking is back

I dont know how you go back with how clean these look. I will be shocked if they are not full time on the maroon helmets by season end. If we are 4-0 going into that game the hype around Starkville very well could lead to some magic.

WE would continue to wear leather helmets if we wore them and were at 4-0 to start the season.

wtf wants a white out at home??????
I want that beautiful maroon ****ing helmet with the interlocking MSU on it. I want that awesome maroon jersey with State on the front. I want the white pants with the maroon piping as Jack would say with the interlocking MSU on the thigh. I love maroon- its a great color. Not the merlot Croom maroon- the Kang Jackie legit maroon.
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

Hot take, perhaps, but I think its weird we put an Independence Bowl win on such high a pedestal...
That being said, I love the helmet.

i Just think the Dave Marler, Bruce Threadgill, John Bond helmets and uniforms were the best.....slightly different but basically the same. Simplicity is a wonderful thing.

I agree that the 1998 uniform is a better look than this and really what I've seen others put out there. And to me what we wore in 1998 is what we SHOULD be wearing as our primary uniform.
That said, the silver lining here is the interlocking is making another appearance and I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the only time we wear it this year. I could see fans going crazy over it like in 2014 when we wore the 1998 tribute uniform that was intended as a one off against USM and then wore them against SEC teams the rest of the year. Even if I am wrong about that I think we are going to gradually see the interlocking being worn by the team more and more until I think it comes back officially in 2030 when the current Adidas contract runs out.
I think we should basically follow LSU's uniform template. For us, I mean wear the 1998's for home SEC games with the maroon helmet, maroon jersey, and white pants and then for most road games wear the maroon helmet with white jerseys and white pants.
Then wear the alternate uniforms- white out, black out, silver, patriotic, etc. against OOC teams like UAB. I'm also good if we pick a game on the road and make it our "storm trooper" game where we wear all white once a year. Heck, I'm even OK with an Egg Bowl version of the 1998's with a gold helmet. I know I probably just lost people there with that one but I'm not married to the Egg Bowl uniforms so it's not a deal breaker for me by any stretch. I think wearing the 1998's in the Egg Bowl would be awesome as well.

Yeah. I don't get it either. I'm not sure if that game even makes my MSU top 20 of memorable games over the years. It's top 10 for the MSU administration though.
We played a bowl game. It snowed. We won.
But for me the 2010 Gator Bowl, 1999 Peach Bowl, 2022 Outback Bowl, and the 2013 Liberty Bowl were more memorable and fun.
I don't think the Snow Bowl was even the most memorable win of that season- beating Florida that year was way more memorable to me.

I love the interlocking, hate the white helmet though. Always will.

I know I'm in the minority but I dont like the interlocking as much as everyone else...... I prefer the State Script .... leave the other in the past

spot on...and why do a white helmet against a team that already has white helmets. maroon helmet, maroon jersey, white pants for 90% of home games. lose the white helmets and the all maroon uniforms

It's ok for a throwback game.... so is the Pirate and banner but just every once in awhile.... I like the unis from the late 90's though

Awesome. Prefer maroon but I'll take the MSU any way.
One of the great forgotten plays in MSU history that block kick and lateral back was incredible. What a flip by Clinton.
So much hype, please let us be 4-0 heading into UT.

At least we had some good memory of white helmets. The horrible Croom white helmet games still haunt me.

I think the maroon shirt, white pants, maroon helmet should be the default uni. But, I don't see a problem throwing in a white helmet and uni for a game or going all maroon with gold highlights for the EB. That interlocking logo in gold on a maroon helmet would be awesome.

I think it is just an excuse to use the interlock and invite back an early late 90s/early 2000s team for the fans to buy in to what is possible again

I can be the minority but I like it once a season.
Another burning hot take I have is gray pants should be permanent and white pants for homecoming and one white out game home or road

Agree. Plain and simple. I don't think we need the stripes on the shoulder pads either. Maroon helmets, white pants at home. and white on white on the road. Maroon helmets all the time, except white or rare occasions.
