Record with Jake G as an assistant.
I'm curious if any of you statisticians can help me figure out our overall record with Jake G as hitting coach. Then it would be interesting to see his record with Lemonis vs without. It might be very telling.

Hopefully my math is correct....
As of right now, he is 319-192 overall. (2017-present)
with Lemonis 199-115 (2019, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25)
without 87-57 (2017,18,25)

His first season as an assistant was 2018.

We were 39-29 in 2018 and 15-15 in conference. We are 8-1 and 7-1 without Lemonis this year. So, 47-30 overall with Gautreau and without Lemonis.

I will say this, my daughter loved Jake with his recruitment of her son.

I thought he came on when Can came in... ill redo it...

Jake isn't the problem, It's the lax approach bred here over the Lemonis years. He's a good hitting coach.

Cann hired him after the 2017 season was over. Will Coggin had Jake's position during the 2017 season.

Well we've raked this year.
We're second in the league in hitting and top 4 in I believe HR and slugging. Kudos.

You are the man! I appreciate this so much. My point is that I think Jake has been good regardless of who is in leadership. It makes me wonder if he's not one of the better head coach candidates in the conferences in terms of assistance. He's been Great with our recruiting. I would rather hire him honestly as a head coach and some of the assistance that I've been named. He's earned his stripes in this league. He went to college World Series with Tulane and with us under two different administrations.

He's not been that great a HS recruiter (not terrible either) but has found players in the portal. I thought he'd have gotten the Tulane job but we pay more I think.

Looking at Coach Waz?s history, he didn?t take his coaching staff from Purdue with him to Oregon. Instead, he hired assistants that either had ties to Oregon or the West Coast. I think he would strongly consider keeping both Parker and Gaut.

Or bringing in Coggin

I've noticed people stop making smartass comments about me talking about cold weather

I was really surprised that we didn't make Jake the interim coach. Basically it's a sign that the posts that be would rather keep Parker than Jake IMO.
The reality is Jake is way more qualified to be a head coach than Parker.

This the reason I brought it up. Jake as a HC with coggin as a hitting coach would work

Coggin vs Gaut. Interesting debate.
People would probably be surprised that in sec play we are hitting 40 points higher than UGA and slugging more.

Also better than Elander at Tennessee.

I am a Jake fan. I just like his steady Eddie attitude. I mean if you wanna step back and look from a thousand feet, this staff is taking care of business. Just hope we can get Frei and Fireman back soon.

This staff isn't being fired because they were bad. It's because they weren't meeting expectations.
We're rebooting our program. We'll see if they get the right people in. I would be very surprised if anyone is back other than maybe Bobby Austin because we're going to be in need of analytics people.
