mid slap hitters win you NCs nowadays son. You want Bruce Castoria. A guy that NOW, can crank it to the warning track and runs like wes rea. We need a team full of hendersons and armstrongs. Guys that hit, get on base and can fly. Have one, maybe 2 power guys in the lineup. That is how to win these days. Well, not really. Lights out pitching and defense wins.

seen it, you know better than to get into discussions on this. For having the best fans in the country, 95% of them sure don't understand baseball.

We have no Sunday starter. If we don't win on Fridays, we lose series. That is why this game tonight is extremely important. That is who we are. We had been retired in order five out of eight innings. That is just putrid at the plate.

My point is that last season's success is the only reason the fan base isn't participating in mass suicides right now. This team is pretty bad, with little hope, yet most are very optimistic because Omaha is still fresh on their minds. I'll be surprised if this team makes the tourney. I'm not melting down. I'm just looking at it without my goggles on.

I agree with pitching and defense wins. Unfortunately we have one good starter. Why we can't find good starters is a mystery and very disappointing

Uh, it's not one single game that's hurt us. It's the last three SEC series. We

Lose this game and we are 1-6 in our last three series. That is bad.

Who are you speaking of? It is reeeeally tough for freshman to hit SEC pitching. Bottom line. Renfroe could barely make contact his freshman year and look what he became. It takes an elite player as a freshman to be a big time contribution. Our young talent is substantial, its too bad our veteran guys aren't stepping up.

Our veterans are regressing. What makes you so sure our young players will progress when our older players aren't? I'm not saying they won't be good, but it's certainly not a sure thing

With Lingo only pitching 3 innings, is there a chance he could pitch sunday if needed?

I'm going to be crucified for saying this..... But last season was a fluke. As you say... That's baseball. That team got hot at the right time, and came back down in game 1 of the Championship series. That was a decent team, but they weren't world beaters. This team has some of the same guys, but most seem to have regressed, rather in motivation, attitude or talent.

This isn't going to be our year, that's pretty clear. You aren't going to set the world on fire every year though. I'm not sure what you expected. Between the injuries and and veterans not hitting, this team doesn't have much hope. We will be fine in the coming 2-3 years though. We aren't going to Omaha or even Supers every year, its pretty clear that a lot of our fans don't understand college baseball.

Well shit. Even if they don't score here, they now get to the top of their order at least for the 9th.
