Another reason Vandy won is because Bama didn?t have their usual Alabama referees to swing the game for them. This was one of the most fairly refereed Bama games I?ve seen in a long time. Not completely fair, but a big improvement over their usual crap.

Or maybe he was 70 something years old and owns Ferrari and Music city Mercedes in Nashville. That might have had a little impact on his retiring.

This is true. Saban ran the SEC officiating.

I think that goes without sayin', 28... there's no way we'd take a chance and rely soley on superior talent, facilities, fan support, tradition, finances, coaching, and carpal tunnel syndrome from typin' all this shit...

He was pretty open about not liking the direction that college football was going in.
Number 13 for Alabama kicking the ball at the end of the game tells me that Alabama is going to miss Saban. There is no way in hell he loses that game and if he did 13 would be walking back to Tuscaloosa if he behaved like that.

Or just let the games play out without obvious Bama bios with calls. Either way you lost to Vandy with all those advantages.

Vandy has a secret weapon Jerry Kill. He is probably one of the most underrated coaches in football and he still wins big with all his health issues

I agree. It's pretty obvious already that they miss Saban. That last paragraph is 100% spot on!!

Truth Tusk. Bama left no stone unturned and if the other stuff wasn't getting it done, work the ref angle. Happened all the time. 17 State wins without ref hep, not to mention many others by other teams. The Saban effect is more than X&Os and "the process".

Nah, those people run the window flags year round. It is embarrassing.

saban coached to the edge of the rules and forced refs to have the balls to make the calls - see frequent PI at texas. if opposing coach was a beta like mullen and let it slide then refs let it go

There were too many plays where Bama got favorable calls. Negating TD's due to holdings, etc. You can't name 5 times Bama was called for targeting in an the years of the rule. You could also notice whenever Bama played outside of the SEC officiating they had higher than normal penalties against them.

Remember when Ridley, I think, ran out of bounds the ref marked it and caught the winning TD against us.

Devonta Smith scored on the next play IIRC, but your point stands as it was a huge 3rd down conversion to keep the drive alive...
eta: I could be wrong...
Ahhhhh, I was thinking of the game winning score... the OOB play was early in the game... my bust.
