My neighbor and him were in army flight school together and served together and were still good friends. He said he was a great guy and outstanding officer/ He was an army Aviator and ranger school graduate.

If yall haven't seen 1973's Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, definitely check it out. One of the most underrated westerns ever made. Kris plays Billy and James Coburn plays Garrett. It's so ****ing good. And Slim Pickens, of all people, gives probably the best performance (albeit heartbreaking) in the whole movie. It's a 10/10.
Kristofferson is also in another favorite westerns of mine, Michael Cimino's Heaven's Gate, which isn't without controversy, but it's so GD epic and vast. And Kris is amazing in it.

Right on Beardo. Some of my favorite movies right there. I still don't understand how Heaven's Gate is considered on of the worst movies of all time. Kris was one awesome dude!
