Washington Husky QB update
https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/...ult-scrimmage/
?This was an opportunity for us to learn,? coach Jedd Fisch said. ?The offense certainly got its tails kicked for the first hour of the scrimmage, and the defense probably wasn?t real happy with how they played the second half of the scrimmage.?
The defense largely dominated the affair, especially along the line of scrimmage, rarely allowing Rogers and freshman quarterback Demond Williams Jr. time to look farther than five yards down field. Washington?s defensive line got pressure almost any time it sent an extra linebacker. The offensive line was also called for two false starts and two holding penalties.
Rogers behind an OL that is not very good? No bueno

So…he’s still just hitting those 5 yards passes. Meh.
-
Williams is supposed to be a mobile qb. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get some playing time sooner rather than later if the OL is that bad.
-
It's almost like he doesn't have the physical talent to be a difference maker. Much like I said for 4 years and got crucified for saying it.
"But look at the passing records!!!!"**
Cowboy Will is a good kid who is a decent QB but has serious limitations. He'll make a good coach some day.

Will is what he is. We all said it when he transferred and I've said it every day since. He probably should have gone to WKU and played for Tyson Helton and Hollingshead. Yea I know Friend is there, but Will is comfortable with Drew because Drew was basically an extension of Mike when he was the asst QB coach for us.

What Leach was able to do with Rogers is amazing. I was really looking forward to seeing the post Rogers era with Leach. I hope he does well at UW.
-
One thing that helps is that Washington's early schedule is ridiculously easy. The 2nd half of it? not so much.

I'm a big fan of his, but we all understand he's not mobile, doesn't have a strong arm and holds the ball too long (the holding of the ball too long I think is Leach thing he can likely overcome that). I hope he does well, but trying to follow Pennix is a huge lift.
-
Wash record will be similar to ours.
Leach going 7-5 and 8-4 with a QB who is G5 from skill set, at best, and an average defense was amazing.

It was someone else's fault that the offense sucked every year he was here and it will be someone else's fault at Washington. Too much pride from the decision makers in that family to go to a lowly G5 school with that bunch. He will be broken in half or benched before the year is over.
-
I think Will is a good kid. I think some people in his family are typical OM people and that’s all I’ll say.
-
Fisch appears to be a good coach. He does have a depleted roster this year so he may only win 6 or 7 games, but what he did at Arizona from year 1 to year 3 is nothing short of a miracle. I’m not sure how he didn’t realize De Laura was not the best QB on the roster though until his injury, so his QB decisions are questionable.

Looking back, Leach winning 18 games, 10 SEC games, in 3 years with Will as the starter may have truly been his magnum opus. Like he took a G5, at best, QB with limited arm strength and concrete feet and won 10 games in the toughest conference in college football. That's absolutely incredible.

State fans suck!! Give money!! Support the kids!!!
Proceeds to run down a kid that gave more than anyone here through a literal shit ton of adversity for the school. That won the games you are trying to take away from him lol. Breaking all our records along the way. And running down a family you literally dont know a thing about is crazy.
Y?all a trip. Let it go. Hes a long way from WKU haha. Just keeps making y?all eat it. He must be pretty good because Bill Belicheck is pretty high on him. Hes in that building every day and Will is still the starter. Just like he was the starter when yall wanted Sawyer and jack Abraham. Where are they starting now?
Will won. Yall lost. And he still would bleed for this school. Yall acting like yall bleed monthly

Any mention of Rogers is like a bat signal to this guy.
-
Nobody is talking bad about will.
He's just not very talented physically. Makes good decisions and is accurate. Wish him the best.

Oh no man. I have let a many slide since he transferred. But this is crazy work

Like the very guy that literally said he would never go farther than WKU, is starting threads about him starting at a team that is a playoff contender every year. How many Ls can you take and not even know it
-
A perennial playoff contender having a preseason Vegas win total of 6.5 should be a neon flashing light but it’s 100 % going to be blamed on someone else, just like it has been for almost a half a decade now.

Dude- nobody said he would go no further the WKU so stop the strawman BS. I mentioned WKU because that seemed like a good fit for him. If I said he wouldnt get a offer better than that then please link it. I'm going to bet you cant because it doesnt exist.
Nobody has taken any L's on Will Rogers. He is exactly who many here have said he is. To top it off- all I did was link an article about their scrimmage. And we will link things about him all season in 2024. We gonna see how it goes for him this season. He has a weak schedule to begin the season so he should roll in the 2nd half when it gets tougher. He will be comfortable in the system by then.
