Gotta at least give Loafers credit, when he was here our Marketing especially around football was great. He did a lot to build the product/brand of MSU. Seemed to go away when he left.

Scott wasn’t bad. Cohen was just awful for our university. If OM can bounce back from Bjork we should be okay with time.

Section 18 and 23 requires a donation of $100 per seat. 23 has few remaining. (Because it is next to the visitors section and visitors have bought those). 18 has approximately 150 available.

So, where would you move the faculty and staff and who would buy their seats? Very few is who.

Section 4, 3 and 5 still have seats unsold. Other than the faculty/staff and premium seating, every section has unsold seats as of today.
It's premium seating and you think about how much$200 a seat extra would bring. You don't give a discount and get premium seating. You just answered it, put it next to the visitor seats if you want them in the lower level.

If you go to the games you'll see many of the staff sell their seats to visitors. So they (I'm guessing you) come out way ahead of the rest of us.

    1. Bring back the interlocking helmet and the 1998 uniforms. They are our best uniform. They say "Mississippi State football" to most of our fans and they're unique to us. In some ways it kind of reminds me of our 1985 MSU baseball uniforms with the lettering being unique in that you don't see it a lot on anyone else's uniforms. The interlocking MSU with the black outlines looks good as well and is also very unique. And there is some versatility with it. There is already a white helmet version although I would like to see an all white helmet without the stripe and a white facemask and just the interlocking MSU on the side which could be a variation. The uniform works with gray/silver pants and perhaps a gray/silver facemask, an all black variation, an all silver variation, and maybe even an Egg Bowl variation with gold helmets and the interlocking MSU on the helmet. Let's be clear though- the maroon helmet, maroon jersey, and white pants are the best look. And yes, I do understand that MSU just switched to the State script and it's going to have to run its course until any other changes happen. Hopefully we see the interlocking MSU come back soon fulltime nonetheless.

    2. Declare MSU the 1940 National Champions. We didn't win the SEC that year, that went to Tennessee which went 5-0 in SEC play to MSU's 4-0-1. Tennessee went 10-1 that year to MSU's 10-0-1. MSU that year won as many games as 10-0 Boston College and won more games than undefeated Stanford and Minnesota that year. MSU has as much claim to a NC this year as any of the other schools. By the way- in case you're curious Tennessee was declared the NC that season.

    3. MSU should recognize the on the field results of games forfeited from 1975 and 1976. Everyone else gets to "vacate" games and yet MSU counts these as losses for MSU. It hurts Bob Tyler's legacy and more importantly it hurts MSU as a whole by giving away two free wins to some of our common opponents despite beating them on the field.

    4. MSU needs to update their content production for football. I really enjoyed Relentless back in the day. I would love to see that comeback and properly promoted by MSU- ads on gameday at the stadium, ads on Facebook, twitter, and etc. Have a free access version on Youtube and then maybe some behind the scenes content that you have to pay for. Anything to promote the football program is good content IMO. I'd also like to see MSU have highlights of old MSU football players like Eric Moulds, JJ Johnson, Johnie Cooks, and even as far back as Jackie Parker. In 2020 MSU put out some old home videos that people used to buy for the 1991, 1998, 1999, and 2000 football seasons. Put more of those up! Except for 1988 and 2003 for obvious reasons. Although I'd probably watch those too.

There are approximately 1,700 seats per east side section, with the exception of 16 and 25.....$340,000. However, I am not so sure you would make $340,000 because as I outlined up above.....State hasn't sold out section 20 this year. Which is the exact same seat as 21. I am sure some people may move from 19 or 22 but if that was the case, why hasn't section 20 sold out this year. So, why removed a nice perk from faculty and staff, for all their hard work. WHen you can not even sell the inventory you have right next to section 21.

BTW, I will say this again, it isn't easy to get GOOD people to come to work there. You need all the incentives you can offer.

ALSO, IT IS NOT JUST FACULTY AND STAFF THAT SELL TICKETS TO VISITORS. VISITORS GET SO MANY SEATS ON THE EAST SIDE BECAUSE STATE FANS DON"T SELL OUT THE STADIUM AND common every day STATE FANS DON"T SHOW UP TO GAMES and aren't buying what is offered on the secondary market. When Alabama, UT, UGA come to town....they are in EVERY SECTION of that stadium.

^^^^ This is true and has been for as long as I've been a State fan. I get there being a lot of Bama fans for that game because of proximity to the school and the fact that East MS has so many Wal-Mart Bama Fans.
But I remember being shocked how many Tennessee and LSU fans would travel in for games and be everywhere in the stadium. And not just ones and twos per section - an embarrassing amount per section. You never see that at other SEC schools for SEC games - except Vandy.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

I sit in 20 on the east side. Basically 40 yard line seats. Last year, I'd say for every 10 fans, two were LSU for that game and 3 Rebs for every 10 at the Egg bowl. It was painful at times. Because 2-3 can sound like 10 when they are winning.

    Sounds like staff talking points.

They are 50 yard line premium seats. They'd sell better than other places would.

If staff doesn't have to pay donation fees and you want to give them decent seats then fine, move them next to the visitors because like you said, that area doesn't sell and they are on the lower level so that should make them happy.
Also if you don't have to donate like the rest of us then you shouldn't be able to sell your tickets/ get in to those sections without your pass. Now that it's all electronic it would be an easy fix to flag that section to where they have to show a staff id.

I agree. A lot of professors don't really like sports and just sell the tickets for pure profit.

This isn't accurate. When compared to the regular population of fans. Look at any pic you want of recent games, section 21 has a larger portion of maroon than the sections adjacent.

I don't post this to call out posters. However to dispell the internet myth that faculty/staff is the problem. The problem is larger than faculty and staff. However I digress.

You're missing the point. If they get a discount AND premium seats, they shouldn't be allowed to sell their tickets.
