Good get overall.
I wouldn't be surprised if they use him as a relief pitcher. Also wouldn't be surprised if Parker works his magic and he is in the rotation.

Jimmy Keenan the 6-3 225-Lb Catcher and masher from St John signs with Wake Forest
I have no idea if MSU was actually pursuing him. Surely the MSU offers are better than WF's, I hope.

I doubt we were on him. Judging by the guys we were going after, we want low K guys. Kid had a good avg but a K rate of 31%. Also probably didn't help his case that he was 1-7 with 5 Ks in two games against us.

He's a depth arm at this point, he is an experienced arm though who has a lot of mound time. We wanted his bat, dude can hit and has an excellent eye and plate discipline. I really like his swing. Very compact and quick.

USC Upstate just had a guy commit to Vandy. Koby Kropf. .352 BA, .431 OBP, .703 SLG. With 20 HRs and 21 2Bs.
Between him, Sullivan, and Rinehart that team MASHED. Hit .303 as a team with 108 HRs.

This is not a portal guy but one of our signees, a player to keep an eye on is Topher Jones. Watching him play he's slick in the field and has excellent bat speed. Also by watching him on the field he's a kid that loves the game and is a leader who's teammates love him. If you watch him you can see how much he loves being on that field, gamer. While he may not be an immediate impact player, keep an eye on him down the road.

Sounds like we may be closing in on a pitching commit in the next couple of days.

I think he is more of a relief pitcher but that would fill a big need with Tyler Davis and Hardin leaving.

I've seen written, the Ohio State player, Beidelschies, is the top Portal Pitcher. Followed by a Long Beach State lefty.
Zach Root from ECU is big prospect. Mason Koch of Creighton is big bullpen guy.

If rumors are true, we're in on a couple big pitchers.

Ohio state pitcher seems to be one and seems like we are in a good spot with him. He has decent numbers. Don?t look at his W/L record because the record doesn?t tell the full story

91 Ks to 31 BBs in 84.2 innings is what I'm focusing on. Outside of W/L record, his numbers are better than Stephen coming out of Purdue

Just picked up a big LHP who was committed to UGA (HS), top lefty in GA.

Interesting pickup. Seems like he's got high upside. Need him to develop better than Loftin. Then again....that would just be develop at all.
ETA: DAMN!!! Didn't realize his FB had ticked up 7 mph in a year. Up to 95 now. If he can control that, and we get him to campus, he could be a piece next year.
