It's a risk either way you look at it. I would have preferred to hold Khal for UVA, but maybe we feel Cjintje can handle their lineup better. Their stats are very similar. Far more similar than I thought they would be.

I agree and this is probably the best play for us. No reason to leave anything to chance because we have to stay in the winners bracket.

Yea after looking I actually went back and altered my answer. I didn't realize that Stephen and Cjintje had such similar stats. It's probably just a matchup thing.

Our pitching(especially our starters) give us a great chance to win in a short series. I like our chances in the first 2, provided we score a few runs, lol.

I think we could beat St. Johns with 3 or 4. Virginia could take 6 or 7 to beat unless Cjintje shuts them down.

Do 7 inning run rules apply during regionals or is that just an SEC deal?

I was thinking go to Khal against UVA since they are the better hitting team. I would rather have to get 2-3 innings out of the bullpen against the best hitting team instead of Loo which puts at least one more inning out of the pen.
I have faith in both but we will be lucky to get 6 out of Loo. I will say maybe they like the Loo match up since he gets more strike outs.

The biggest thing with Cjintje is keeping the pitch count down. In his last few starts he elevates his pitch count too early. Case and point, Arkansas. He threw 4.1 and was really good, but he threw 104 pitches in that 4.1 innings. It needs to be like Vandy where he went 6 and only threw 88. Or Mizzou where he went 7 and threw 95.
