From his Twitter post, I’m assuming we pulled his offer or something close to that, like asking him to wait until February or something.

    Anyone know anything.

That is just all kinds of rude.

I think Stonka is the best WR commit we have had since Bumphis.

He may be referring to a recent tweet by Stonka on twitter showing a thinking emoji after a recent visit by Lane. There is a 20 post thread regarding this on sixpackspeak. Long way to December, but we are down to 15 commits, 42nd in the nation, last in the sec even behind Vanderbilt. As for our new staff cleaning up Mississippi, we now have 8 from the state which includes one juco player.

Really cleaning up the state with this group of MS centric recruiters. I will give Bumphis credit that he got Burnside and Harrell. Although the bigger job might be keeping them committed with the Titanic that our on field product is currently. As for Friend, he can go back to Philadelphia. His recruiting is crap and his coaching is miles worse.

Also concerning that we seem to be going JUCO heavy in this class. For those of us that remember, that was how the Jackie tenure reached the breaking point. I understand a couple of JUCO guys if you believe that they are instant impact guys( Sweat, Abram, Slay) but we seem to be throwing a JUCO offer to every player that has a ranking.

The portal should be where you go if you need instant impact older guys.

The impact portal guys are simply very expensive and we have needs everywhere on the field.

I would rather spend money on the HS class and take our lumps next year, but that doesn't seem like what we are doing.

I don't think going to the JUCO route is a good idea, but I think CZA is feeling the pressure and knows he won't be given the time to rebuild.

Yeah I don't get going JUCO heavy in this portal era.

Funny how several on this board use to complain about Mullen?s recruiting calling him lazy, etc. we know have a structure where we are offering every Juco product with no P5 offers in the world of the portal. Our recruiting is literally dead last and y?all think that?s going to fix things going forward?

I know nothing about the kid so I'm not going to trash him.

Here is what I do know, by my count we have the following DL coming back next season:

Trevion Williams - coming back after a season ending injury
Kalvin Dinkins - coming back after injury sidelined him for a large portion of season
Donterry Russell - Has shown flashes in pass rushing opportunities still light
Deonte Anderson - Has shown flashes, needs more reps
Ty Cooper - Hasn't shown anything
Caleb Bryant - Hasn't shown anything
Jonathan Davis - Hasn't shown anything
Eric Taylor - Hasn't shown anything
Gabe Moore - Hasn't shown anything

That is it. That is everything we have returning on the DL for next season. I don't think we can be that choosy when it comes to DL that have the physical ability to play DL next year. Even if it is just for depth purposes, we need capable bodies.

Just looking through that depressed me.

Pretty sure Moore, Bryant, and Davis haven't really played on the DL yet.
