Would be an incredible hire but can not imagine why he would take our job. A lateral move from a CWS team to a lame duck coach with two abysmal seasons. Hard to imagine.

I will take back any bad comments regarding the search. It will show we are legit still. Wake Forest isn’t Vandy. Much better shot for money, winning and future here.

As a program and history we are years beyond WF.

It is 100% a promotion. Doubling your salary + being in a higher visibility conference with better head coaching exit ops

You're doing the same job for more money. You are not adding any different job responsibilities/experience to your resume. It most certainly is not a promotion. It's the same job in a different location. He would be better served taking a head coaching job. Unless he prefers to remain a career pitching coach and just wants to make more money.
But then he runs the risk of Lemo getting canned and being out of a job before the seat gets warm.

This is more than a risk. Lemon gets canned mid-season if he trots the same lineup and pitching staff out to a 1-8 or 2-7 SEC start next year. If that happens, Muscara or whoever the Defensive Coordinator/PC is next year May ascend to interim Head Coach. That would definitely be a resume builder or Resume destroyer depending on how the rest of the season plays out.

Hard to imagine we would promise a pitching coach on the front end that he becomes HC if Lemo gets canned. Or that he's promised he will be retained as the pitching coach no matter who the HC that gets hired after Lemo. And if we make that promise and a new head coach inherits a PC, good luck with us being able to hire a HC anywhere but from the high school ranks.

Sure hope we're not getting used by folks to increase their salary where they are. Because unfortunately that makes more sense than most everything else.

I don't know anything but I seriously doubt it. He's coaching in the winners bracket of the CWS. He cant afford to let that get out if true. Someone most like started this. These things don't work out for us.
