Well we may get the defensive situation straightened out but other than Rea I haven't seen ANYONE on our team consistently squaring up the baseball. I'll stand by the statement that scoring runs against SEC teams will be challenging for us.

To be honest guys, we have so many issues right now offensively and defensively in the field that its going to be a BIG challenge for Cohen to get it straightened out. We are about to go to 4-4 after today having played 3 mediocre teams. Like someone else said, we are going to struggle mightily to score against SEC pitching and we aren't sound enough in the field right now to win 2-1 or 3-2 type games.

It's probably easier to straighten defense out than offense. And usually you end up better in the long run for doing that too. That's why there are some catchers in MLB that are hitting .200 and hang around awhile.

Our outfield defense is fine. Catcher was an issue, but Collins and Walker look to have stepped up. So, we appear to have solved that.

That leaves the infield. Wes is good. We might consider moving Pirtle to SS and then let Hann or Heck play second. Then we might consider Humphreys and Heck at third.

Just now able to tune in on live stats. Appears today we can neither hit nor defend. It's time for some leadership to assert itself. Question is- by whom?

Absolutely. Needs to be a veteran out of the too cool for school group. Those guys needs to nut up instead of having well we've been there before attitude. Guess what? You haven't done dick this year and nobody gives a shit about last year. ****ing get your head out of your asses veterans.

You gotta think Detz and Pirtle will turn it up. Vickerson has hit it well. CT will be hit or miss, but will typically get you a hit per game. Henderson usually finds a way to get on base, but we are playing Brown over him right now for some reason. And Humphries seemed to be on base all fall, but we aren't playing him any either. Garner has looked great in minimal action, so we took him out of the lineup.

The potential is there, we just have to get em all on the field together IMO.

This is my big concern. 5 hits through 7 innings in a Sunday game against Holy Cross is a concern.

Yeah that does sound crazy. Garner can catch and Hump can play 3rd. It's real ****ing simple in the infield. Finding the best 3 OF is the question.
