Did a little research and notice 3 flights that were rushed flights and weren't necessarily planned weeks out. One came from Pensacola (flew in Monday), one from Jacksonville (flew in Monday), and one from North Carolina (which flew in yesterday). The Pensacola is interesting because it's pretty close to mobile..... right?

Not if we handle it properly. I suspect we fire Moorhead tomorrow and say that we are doing a national search. (wink) Tell any media that leaks Napier as our coach will be cut off from MSU as far as access goes- especially that worm Horka.

We'll let Napier coach the bowl although we can't stop rumors totally. We probably won't announce his hire until either late next week or the day of the Championship Game to maximize exposure if I had to guess. Thursday at the earliest but my educated guess is next Friday.

And that's exactly what was supposed to happen. Joe was done and then we effed it up. They have a chance to fix this screwup NOW!

Neal is a UNM dick, but he's dead right on this, we had a chance to do it right and 17ed it up. Now its getting fixed, don't agree with all the verbiage that's coming out it makes us look rather amateurish, but its time to move on.

It's not Cohen that wanted this out unless he's trying to put pressure on Keenum or somebody else that he needs to persuade b/c the leaks tie his hands w/r/t firing Moorhead and decrease his negotiation leverage. These leaks could be coming from Napier's side. They make it where MSU can't go back so they either have to reach a deal with Napier or go on to plan B (or C or whatever we're on now). Dellenger is a great guy to leak to b/c he has Mississippi and Louisiana ties so it's not obvious who he is getting info from. If this were the normal part of the coaching cycle, leaking might be risky as it might be a reason to tell them to 17 off b/c they are not trustworthy. Don't think that applies since our options are limited at this point (although I think they are good options).

Or it's possible we really need to clean house in our athletic department to plug some leaks. It's crazy that we went from one of the best run searches in history with Mullen (if you remember, there was basically radio silence until we had just about locked Mullen down with some very random rumors, none of which were coming from multiple directions) to now every possible candidate is leaked out. Not sure if that was the Ninja not sharing with anybody beyond the search consultant, or if agents are more prone to leak now than they did then, or if our athletic department has just been filled with a bunch of gossips, or what.

Not sure if you're joking or not, but it's not much further to campus from GTR than the starkville airport. it's maybe a five minute difference. If the pilot is more comfortable flying into GTR, that's probably where they'd go. No clue what the amenities are at Bryan, but wouldn't shock me if it was missing some safety or security features that GTR has.
