Seems like Hatcher should be the first basemen when he is in the lineup. He's a lefty, Tanner is a righty and Hatcher is about 5 inches taller.

It’s really all on his curve ball. If he has that going, he mixes his pitches so well that when he gets to a 1-2 count and he can throw that he is nearly unhittable.

Good point, plus I just don't think the data is there to make shifts like this in college baseball.

Not just the curve. He worked ahead and was locating his fastball. We threw our 3 best bullpen guys tonight so glad we pulled it out.

Our defense is so ordinary- I can't even remember the last double play
Good win, Allen is now concerning at the bat and as a 1st baseman

I think we will be fine. I think we played a bit too tight at times tonight and we lost focus a little bit being up 6-2. I think we will light up their pitcher tomorrow.

Lemonis gotta fix this- our guys seem perpetually out of position - we gave LSU about 2 or 3 extra outs tonight, plus the errors

I also think we used all three for short stints so that they are all available tomorrow. It’s nice that we really still have all options.

The good thing is, if we can win tomorrow, then Saturday is meaningless!

Big big win. I was hoping we would’ve gotten into their bullpen a little deeper. Still, hard to complain about a Friday night win versus this team with a chance to win the series tomorrow.

You put the shift on for dead pull hitters. You pitch them outside to get them to roll over on top of an outside pitch and hit a weaker ground ball up the middle or to the pull side.

Exactly, LSU is not even a very good offense right now. We gave them multiple extra outs though with players either out of position or not playing the correct depth. We can't do that AND combine that with losing runs by running ourselves out of innings. Good win tonight but we were very fortunate.

There are no meaningless games. Sweeps are what SEC championships and National Seeds are built on.
This is such a Larry Templeton, Gus Croom, Hillary Clinton, Ross Bjork thing to even say, com'on man

I don't think Duplantis is that kind of dead pull hitter. He seemed very comfortable going with the pitch on the outer half of the plate.
