PSA for Honda owners.
THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE. Your mileage may vary. If you own a Honda that has the E-brake and brake hold switch on the console behind the cup holders, you may get a warning light telling you that the brake hold or e-brake has a malfunction in the system and you need to take it to the dealership immediately. The light on the e-brake switch stayed illuminated whether it was on or off. Over time, spillage and crud had gotten into the switch and caused it to fault. I found the switch on Amazon for around $37 and watched a YouTube video explaining how to take the console apart to get to the switch. It was very simple. I disconnected the battery, changed out the $37 switch and it fixed the issue.
Mods, apologies if this is the wrong place for this.
