Here are some tidbits.......Mississippi State wins 76-50. Twelve points and three steals for freshman Josh Hubbard. Marshall transfer Andrew Taylor added nine points and four assists.

I like to see the balanced scoring. Multiple guys had 6 or more points.. Good to also see the new guys contributing early. Jimmy Bell also had 8 points but nearly everyone scored.. Our top 3 scorers were from newcomers.

Getting Hubbard away from Ole Miss was huge.. he started too, (not sure if DeShawn Davis made the trip, didnt see his name anywhere) The starting lineup was:

    Josh Hubbard
    Shak Moore
    DJ Jeffries
    Keyshawn Murphy
    Tolu

I saw Jans was quoted saying we struggled from the free throw line too today

Matthews was there, he had a quiet game. I think Jans will play around with lineups out there. Another game tomorrow at 10 am

It's literally a preseason international scrimmage. It'll be fine. Relax.

It?s more about camaraderie more than anything. Everybody played and nobody played long minutes.

Agreed. But they are important games to build team chemistry against other players. Wins or losses don't really matter but at the end of the day it's still good to walk away with some wins.

Hubbard is gonna be a good one. He'll play and play a lot as a freshman. Started today.

Taylor and his shooting is going to elevate our offense to another level. Think of all the times last year we said, "If we just had someone who could score..."

    Well, Taylor can score.

    I'm excited about hoops again.

    Yes
And Matthews still impresses without the stat sheet - it’s what players like him do

We will learn nothing from a scrimmage like this, good or bad.

Well one thing that is objectively true is that we are clearly a better shooting team than last year. Much much better

    In today's scrimmage:

    Hubbard 19 Pts, 6 Assists
    Myers - 17 PTS, 6 REB
    Taylor - 15 PTS, 3 ASST
    Fort - 10 PTS
    Murphy - 9 PTS, 9 REB
    Jones Jr. - 9 PTS
    Scott - 7 PTS, 7 REB

Thank you Kermit Davis for being a crappy coach because you gifted us Hubbard
