    Has the team given up? Yes. Can you blame them though?

    The season has gone terribly and there's no hope of making the postseason. A coach has been fired. There's rumors the HC will be fired in 9 days. You're on the road, facing the #2 team, and the best pitcher in the country, and your HC has said "go take your lumps boys, we ain't winning this one" by starting Siary.

    I don't think a person on this board wouldn't "give up" under those cenarios. They're all wondering what uniform they'll be wearing next year, not how to compete vs this freak show of a pitcher

    You're saying we should always play to win as a point of pride. To me that's like ww2 Japanese suicide. Just surrender or die fighting, but don't harm yourself for pride. Starting Cade would have hurt the overall odds at winning the series
