So, since Lemo is being retained, will Auger and Simmons be the friday and saturday starters next season if healthy?********

I understand the limit, I was wondering who the players were because I didn't think Simmons and Auger were ready. And his phrasing was something along the lines of "we have guys in the pen that have the talent help, but we aren't using due to roster limitations."

These are quotes from a coaching staff that was raving about Stinnett, Yntema, and Hardin in February. Can you believe what they say?
They even had people talking about Stinnett as Friday night. They actually had Yntema as the Saturday starter. Hardin was 1st from the pen like he was Jonathan Holder.
Awesome talent evaluation to compete in the SWAC, i guess.

Yeah this is the thong about Lemones. Even if he manages to change the culture, light a fire under their asses, get them to play good defense, work on fundamentals, hire a real pitching coach... even of he does all that, he still isn't good at player evaluation. Yeah he gets some gems like Yeager or Ledbetter, but he wanted NIL to go to Stinnett, thought Hunt could be a Saturday starter, throught Hancock could play catcher, brought in that God awful Juco OF last year (Seibert?).
He just keeps misevaluating his roster and it wastes spots. You can't afford to do that and win at a high level in this league. You HAVE to recognize your weaknesses as a prerequisite to fixing them.
Would a good pitching coach help? Probably. But you'd still have dumb decisions like giving NIL to keep Hancock and not pursuing a transfer catcher.

You never know what happens after TJ. We have seen everything from Ethan Small (1st Round Ace) to Keegan James (Pretty Good) to Parker Ford (Back but not ok) to Never pitching again.
Next year you would think (Being super optimistic):
Friday - Cijntje -SO (better give him the dead Stinnett NIL money, ASAP)
Saturday - Loftin - SO (better give him the dead KC Hunt NIL money, ASAP)
Sunday - Holcombe - JR
SEC Relief
Pico - SO (Long Relief, if he is healthy)
Dohm - JR (Long Relief)
Cheatham - JR
Simmons - JR (Closer, if he is healthy)
Auger- JR (8th Inning Man, if he is healthy)
Then you think 1 or 2 of this group becomes ok.
Siary -SO
Tapper - SO
Logan Forsythe - SO
Gibbs - SO
He needs to portal-in about 3 or 4 decent non +9.00 ERA upperclassmen from SoCon.

My hope is that our new PC brings some reinforcements with him.

I think the portal has a limited talent pool in it to start with.

I never did understand bringing in Ynetema or Hardin. They didn't exactly dominate JUCO either. I thought Ynetema would be a LOOGY and that's it.
