Ohtani strikes out Trout to end it. Japan wins 3-2. Great game.

Ohtani is the greatest player in today's game.

The World Baseball Classic was awesome. They should do this every year.

Ohtani?s slider had 17 inches of horizontal break. Nasty pitch.

I just wish ohtani would've thrown nothing but heaters to Trout. Would've loved to just see that strength on strength til last pitch.

The WBC is one of the best things to ever happen for baseball.

For decades MLB looked down on anything that wasn't MLB. The past 20 years you're starting to see both college baseball and now international baseball emerge. Baseball needs the game to be international for the health of the sport.

This version of the WBC is what I envisioned it becoming when it started in 2006.

I think the US may win it in 2026. We'll be hungry and the interest is finally there from not only the best players but I fully expect the better pitchers in the game to become involved for the US. Back in 2006 Team USA was mostly star players that were older at the time. Imagine tonight if it was Sasaki vs Max Scherzer or Verlander instead Merrill Kelly? That's another great storyline.

This kind of emotion has been happening in the Carribbean World Series for years. The best teams in the winter leagues competing against each other from 6-8 countries. That's going to be held in Miami in February and I'm hoping to go. MLB Network has been missing out on not paying any attention to the Carribbean Leagues which are full of MLB players. The difference is the WBC gets the US and the Asian counties involved too.

Basically this is baseball's World Cup. And this is also the only way to get MLB players in the Olympics down the road.

And I think you are going to see American kids wanting to play in the WBC for Team USA in the future.
