In basketball winning a division had no bearing on anything. In 2 of the last 3 division championships that Stans won, we played in the NIT.
Hell in 2007, MSU and Mississippi tied for the SEC West "championship" and played in the NIT while Arkansas got an at-large bid to the dance.
N-I-T, not in Tournament, then and now. Stans swung for the fences with Renardo and not only was it not a hit, it was an error.

Would it be sensible for Stansbury to replace George Brooks? Or should we look for new blood whenever Brooks retires. Btw, I have no idea when Brooks is planning to retire.

You look for new blood. Stansbury retired/resigned due to his health. It would make less than zero sense to go be an assistant
