Zavion Thomas
Don?t be shocked to see him in the Portal soon. Geaux Tigers is interested.
-
Yep. Looks like LSU is trying to pick him off.
-
Sounds like tampering since he's not in the portal. Same thing going on with Dcam by other sec teams.
Sankey needs to put a stop to that. It's explicitly against the rules.

Hahahahhahahha
They shoulda put an end to paying recruits before NIL bc it was against the rules. There are no rules anymore

Ok, who is the current LSU player that this would affect? If you bring in a new guy, they plan to play them? Whose minutes/catches does the new guy take? State should offer that guy.

Are they wanting him for more than a return specialist?
And he's from Louisiana, so he gone if they want him

This is what Z needs to know. And if a new shiny guy shows up next year guess who is on the curb.
-
Lol this is a circus show. The big boys still get the pick of the crop and teams like us are left with a revolving door team each year it appears. Thought this was supposed to give parity to the teams yet it doesn't look that way to me.

This is what I'm talking about!!!
A player not even in the portal and a school is offering a NIL deal to transfer.
Absolute and total BULLSHIT!
Any school caught doing this should PERMANENTLY lose a scholarship. Where are you NCAA?!!

Don't be fooled...It's a 2-way street. The players are using their high school coaches and/or handlers/trainers to be the intermediary on information sharing so no direct contact until it's in the portal. Straight up bidding and supply & demand process! Gonna be harder and harder to find diamonds in the rough and develop the potential in players and keep them in this current system I'm afraid.
And I predict overall bowl attendance to be an all-time low or close to that with very few exceptions.

Just got a State email from Bracky asking to buy our allotment of bowl tickets "as they will sell out soon". Haven't gone since the Music City Bowl a few years back and they were next to the top, "Bob Uecker seats" through the university. Is situation the same this year on seating? Also, how many players have opted out or in the portal? We may see a team opt out for lack of players or you see a second string, spring practice type game in a meaningless bowl.

Same. I'll pass
"We will have no problem in handling Kentucky."-Turfdawg67. MSU suffered a 27-17 defeat in 2022 with 225 yards in total offense.

NCAA oversight is no more
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

Gonna start doing some more hunting and fishing , college football has died. I don?t watch much professional sports.
No point in being a fan of a mid tier power 5 anymore because you can offer a guy a scholarship whose next best offer in south alabama or southern miss and you develop him into a good player and his ass is gone to the school that didn?t think he was good enough
We are the testing ground.
Ole Miss hasn?t been out bid on a player yet because they are all in on football and we are not all in on football
Hey guys the Dude is beautiful though!

Then what are we even doing? Interest will dwindle quickly.

That's what happens when the university starts outpacing peoples pocket books. Not only have tickets continued to rise, BDC donations have gone up over the years for seats. Now you have to kick in money to help buy players. All the while the gameday experience has largely stayed the same. You can't sell people potted meat and tell him it's a filet.

I agree, how can they expect better fan acceptance when they are charging more for the same "product"? There comes a point where the fans say it is just not worth it anymore. They priced themselves out of the average Joe's price range!

Which is why it's time to break away and form our own entity. Put in place whatever rules you want because antitrust will no longer be an issue. You solicit a player, you get hammered like the NFL does to teams.
