That's what happens when the university starts outpacing peoples pocket books. Not only have tickets continued to rise, BDC donations have gone up over the years for seats. Now you have to kick in money to help buy players. All the while the gameday experience has largely stayed the same. You can't sell people potted meat and tell him it's a filet.

I agree, how can they expect better fan acceptance when they are charging more for the same "product"? There comes a point where the fans say it is just not worth it anymore. They priced themselves out of the average Joe's price range!

It will be to the point that you can't take a player's commitment unless they have already transferred once.

Gonna have to be some sort of penalty for taking a transfer like it takes away a spot for an incoming freshman. For example, you bring in 5 transfers, you can only sign 20.

Fans will have to pay more for us to win. Bottom line. Which sucks for us, because our fans won't even donate $20 a month!!

Doing away with the annul cap on signees was beyond stupid. It was 25. Should be 20 honestly. That's HS, juco, transfers combined. That would fix a ton of this.

We don't even have sound minds running the country, why would college athletics be bound by obligation.

What's weird is that the schools (coaches) voted for this. That was dumb.

Im scared that a future super conference will be formed in the next 10 years and we will get left out.

OK, what value did coaches see in voting for this madness? Did they just not understand the consequences or were they wanting to cause the Blue Blood issues? This is crazy!

This is what I would do

    Its not perfect but

When you sign out of high school you will have to stay there UNLESS your head coach or Coordinator leaves or is fired

you can receive NIL ONLY through a collective set up directly associated with the University

NCAA sets a hard cap for NIL and schools will have to decide who is worth what and so on so forth

You can transfer anywhere in the country AFTER you graduate

If you just HAVE to transfer BEFORE you graduate and neither your head coach nor your specific coordinator has left the program, you will be required to sit out 1 year but not lose a year of eligibility if you transfer OUTSIDE of your conference

If you are doing that same thing INSIDE your own conference, you will have the choice of sitting out 1 full season AND losing 1 year of eligibility OR sitting out 2 full seasons but not losing any eligbility for those 2 seasons.

That would stop this real quick

I also would be in favor of conferences themselves deciding their own Collective cap limit

If the SEC decided to set their cap limit per year to 15 million per year that would still benefit Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida, Georgia

But its better than the absolute shit show we have now

    So a few examples

Bo Nix could have left Auburn for oregon without any penalty at all because his original Head coach and OC that he signed to had been fired from Auburn so he can leave , he could even go to alabama if he wanted because of the rule I would put into place

Rara Thomas would have to choose between 2 options if he went to Georgia because Leach has not been fired or left. He would either have to sit out 2023 season and burn a year of eligiblity for that season to go to Georgia or he could sit out 2023 and 2024 but have lost no years of eligibility

If Rara left for Florida State , he would have to sit out 2023 but not lose any eligibility and be available to play in 2024 with the same eligibility

All of these teams would have to coordinate with the collective and decide who gets what from the collective and who is worth what and those players will have to think about salary space available before signing with that team.

Too many 3 stars bust on themselves when they see that LSU offer and chose LSU over Mississippi state where they couldve started but now are stuck as 4th string water boy because they saw those jerseys.

Stupid decisions equal stupid prizes dumbass

From what I read, the unlimited signees is for one more year. However I believe schools are still limited to 85 scholarships on roster. So.... lsu has to be losing someone to make room. Or lose a signee to stay under 85.

Maybe LSU is cutting someone or many

Same. Plus some one time payments here and there.
We have like 11k bulldog club members.
If we had just 4K people giving $50 a month, which should be easy to do if we have a fanbase that cares at all, that would be 2.4 million a year before any major gifts. We can make that work.

The 85 limit still applies, yes.
A lot of schools are processing guys in order to make room for new, better guys. There is zero penalty for mismanagement of a roster, which is stupid. The one year cap needs to be reinstalled and reduced to 20.

They were scared they would not be able to replace guys jumping in the portal if they were limited to 25 new schollies per year. Which is bad logic. The way to reduce portal activity is certainly not to increase potential landing spots by removing the 25 annual limit. Dumb.

Meanwhile, supposedly Sam Hartman has been offered 2 million to put off the nfl and transfer. This is per tRant, so who knows if true
