Reminds me of The Office episode where Michael declares bankruptcy.

Duncan has as much chance of getting drafted as i do. So i am also declaring for the draft.

Sounds to me like these guys are just trying to save face.

It?s embarrassing to say that you?ve been told or realized that your football playing days are numbered. When you know there is a younger player or a transfer about to take your spot a lot of these guys don?t want the embarrassment of going to the bench. So instead they ?declare for the draft.? We know and they probably know in their heart of hearts they aren?t going to get drafted but that?s not as embarrassing as getting benched on the college level. That?s my theory.

We wanted him back. Just to clear up the benching part.

He was going to be a starter next year. Nobody was taking his spot.

I think people that are commenting "not a big loss" or whatever, have not been paying attention and are thinking this is the same Colin Duncan from 2 seasons ago.

This kid was damn good player and very underrated.

I don't think he gets drafted in the first 5 rounds, maybe a late round pick if he tests well. The guy is a great college player and he will be missed.

Yup. This is exactly the type of player we have to convince to stay in the NIL era. He's a good college player and not likely an NFL player. We have to be able to convince these type players to play out their eligibility and enjoy getting a lot of minutes and being big man on campus while putting a little guaranteed money in their pocket. Some of these players will surprise us and leaving earlier will get them one more year of good money in the NFL, but the majority of them are going to end up ending their careers earlier than they had to.

Which that scenario has to change. There is no reason a player that is in the draft, that doesn?t get drafted, shouldn?t be allowed to play his remaining eligibility. That is a damn stupid ass rule. Like fumbling out the endzone stupid ass rule.

Well there's also NFL practice squads, CFL, XFL, and USFL. None of these however, probably pay as much as the average college players, many straight out of HS!******

In that scenario youve laid out who's taking his place and sending him on?

He's probably going to end up coming back when he gets his grade. He's not getting drafted.

Man I'm all for our players getting the bag, but I'd be very surprised if this guy is draft able as of right now. Solid tackler but liability in coverage. Especially with NIL feel like it makes way more sense to come back and get your 50k and improve your draft stock.
