I certainly don't believe national media. They are totally clueless and are used as pawns. Only Auburn people I would believe are yellawood dude and folks like that. That's why I still believe they wanted Freeze as number 1. There looks to still be a bunch of baggage with him though.

One thing we will know if Freeze is hired , they don't care that they have a split fan base. Whether that was leaked by the Athletic Department that they were talking to Freeze to gauge the fan base perspective, or if it got leaked some other way, some people were upset over it and the Athletic Department supposedly has received a bunch of emails saying they won't go to the games, support the program. etc. if Freeze is hired. If Freeze was originally No. 1, he would have been hired, probably after the Iron Bowl, because Freeze wants this job and Auburn could pay him a lot less money than Kiffin wanted. Sokoloff had said either Kiffin or Freeze should be named as the HC after the Iron Bowl , but several things happened where that didn't become a reality.

It's not just auburn. Lane is going to let the cycle play out and see what else opens up. For example, if Lanning takes auburn then Oregon opens up. If Kelly leaves ucla, ucla opens up.
