The administration supposedly gave Kiffin everything he asked for at OM, including getting the NIL a good bit above what he asked for. Maybe he just sees he has reached his ceiling at OM, and he feels he has a better opportunity to compete against the Bama's, etc. at Auburn, better financial resources or maybe it was for the money ? Don't know. Sure sets up for a prime Iron Bowl though.
