Hypothetically speaking, if Lane held up his signed extension in the locker room (about now), that would be the ultimate "Lombardi, fire the team up" speech. Now, is that going to happen? I think he's heading to Auburn, but who knows.

A little less than three seasons is when his deceptively poor recruiting and evaluation really started catching up to him at USCw, and despite the benefit of the transfer portal things appear to be playing out for him the same way at OM. Even with the mercenaries, cracks not seen the first two seasons are evident in his team this year. He had indeed better get out now, because if he is in fact following the same pattern he's squarely on the down slope.

Listened to the OM post game show and his interview as we went to get gas, (Couldn't pick up State's). Interviewer closed by trying to say something positive, "On to a bowl game and a win". Lane, "Well, I guess".

I think the tootin horn on the lane train isn't working now and it had to call out for help due to an Egg Bowl track derailment. Maybe they ran out of ink on the OM campus too (can't sign a contract without ink )
