Let's talk baseball
What are your early expectations/thoughts regarding baseball next year? We're only a little over 3 months out. It'll be here before we know it.
I think a lineup (in some order) of:
C - Hancock (Highfill during midweek)
1B - Hines
2B - Larry
3B - Alford
SS - Forsythe (with Mershon playing some)
LF - Jordan/Hujsak/Downs/Chance
CF - Ledbetter
RF - Clark
DH - Hujsak/Downs/Seibert/Chance
would be decent. Still some position battles to take place, mainly DH and LF. It's not a lineup that'll lead the SEC in hitting, but we have a nice mix of contact and power. Should be pretty good defensively too.
Won't try to guess the rotation. I think Cade is probably our Friday night starter, and Nixon is probably the closer. But Hunt, Stinnett, Gartman, Davis, Kohn, Dohm, Cjinte, Loftin, and the other freshmen give us more options than we had last year.
I expect to be back in the postseason in 2023. Then I think 2024 is a year we can really make noise.

Dakota had a hell of a call. Gonna be hard for him not to be in the line up.
Larry
Ledbetter
Hines
Alford
Hancock
Clark
Jordan
Hujsack
Forsythe
Cade (if fully healthy)
Hunt
Gartman
Nixon closer
Everyone throws midweek unless we play a good team then I would say Start Loftin

PFS had a good Fall supposedly. Dont count Wild Thang out.
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

His slider looks like a frisbee. If he can somewhat locate the fastball, he'll make a lot of money

The kid from JA and the SS transfer have to have their bat in there somewhere on the reg. So prepare for some different line-ups vs RHP's and LHP's. Platooning likely with this team

I'm mostly worried about 2 things.
1: Walks
2: 4 seamers up in the zone with no movement
If we don't take care of those 2 issues, this year will look like last year.

We should be back in a Super Regional if you are asking my expectation.
We're very talented- but with no established ace.
