I went over to one of their message boards and they mostly said they knew nothing about us but they were going to win.

Watching the national media or even the SECN I can see why that is true. Also if they ain't talking about us we must suck. I'd be confident if I were them too. I think they could be in for a rude awakening or someone will be.

San Diego State is a bad team. Their defense was very weak up front.

I didn't watch that game but your take sounds on point. From the box score and the postgame recap I read, they got pushed around by an Arizona offense that totally sucked last year.

Still, keep in mind that San Diego State returns 7 starters from a defense that finished Top 16 nationally in scoring D, total D, and FEI defensive efficiency. They lost more on offense but they went 12 - 2 last year with a 24-point win over Arizona in Tuscon and a win over Pac-12 champ Utah. They've also won 10+ games in four of the last seven years. This year may be down for them. But they've been a solid program over the past decade. (Last losing season was '09.) On paper, at least, I'd say a big win over San Diego St. on the road is more impressive than a big win against Memphis at home and that Arizona's transfer QB and new WR1 (a 1,000+ yard guy last year) look solid.

That said, we're a veteran SEC team with a great passer, great skill position players, a solid OL, and good players at every level of the D. I agree we should be favored.

I have a personal philosophy that I won't bet on any game we are in.

That being said, if the line is -7, that's shockingly low.

I think as some have said we are vastly underrated and now is the time to take advantage of the eye test with Vegas odds across the board. Lot of early lines that look tasty.

A new coach has a huge affect on his players. Sometimes they come together and sometimes they don't. No doubt LSU has some top athletes in their program but they weren't in sync last night. Time will tell but it just kind of feels like they ain't that inspired with their new coach. Hope I'm wrong.

This is the downfall of the portal. Kelly is going to look like an idiot starting that kid a qb. In his mind he needed the speed on the field because ND never had any. You need speed in the right spots.

I don't know that I'd count out Daniels just yet. He had the 4th best QBR in the sec this weekend.
