? for board- Rules on On Sides Kick Formations

MSU Senior son and I stayed until the end. I thought that you had to have 5 players on each side of the kicker on an potential on sides kick formation. Twice in this formation ( Memphis still kicked long once) and on the on sides kick they only had 4 men on the left side and on 6 on the right of the kicker. What is the rule? Thanks. PS: very concerned about our lack of a pass rush out of the 3-3-5 and play by our safeties. Also stop the celebrations after Td's by WR's. Ra Ra will be next if he doesn't stop his "prancing horse" dance. Lost focus second half or 1st string D got tired with lack of 2nd string successful depth. Clean this up for AZ. Hail State!

Onside kick rules are the balk rules of football.
