He was incredible in his day. Not the best to ever touch the court, but definitely in the top 10.

Bill Russell was one of the top 10 players and also seemed like a really good dude too. Russell once went to Jackson MS during the civil rights movement to get black and white kids to play ball together. He was a gentleman and a class act.

He was a really good analyst too. Knew the game inside and out.

Probably the best defensive Center to ever play
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

I grew up watching the NBA during his day. My Dad & uncles love Celtics. Last watched during the Detroit run when they were so tough. Haven't watched a NBA "game" in decades. Do they ever call walking or play D?

A little defense is played, not a lot. Walking? I think taking 3-4 steps is the norm, maybe more on a layup.

Nature boy Ric Flair had as many championships as the writers deemed necessary for viewership.

His last match was quite a show. We had a blast and met some interesting folk.........

There were great big men around the late 60s and early 70s. You had Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain and my favorite Willis Reed. Also forgot one of the most scoring centers, Lew Alcindor who perfected the Skyhook.
