Fristoe was one of my favorite players. I know he didn’t have a great year this year but the potential was through the roof.

Yep the legs and core are crucial without them the arm don't matter. All your power comes from the core and legs.

Will be interesting to see if KC Hunt and Jackson Fristoe stay at MSU. It's almost guaranteed they leave in rounds 1-10. When drafted in rounds 11-20 it becomes a crapshoot.

This draft has been interesting, and I think indicative of the changes to the minors. In the first 10 rounds roughly 50 HS kids were drafted vs. roughly 250 college players. That trend seems to have continued today.
With the reduction in MiL teams, MLB is going to want to spend less in player development and will really only be taking "sure thing" high school players and investing in international signees.
College Baseball will be the new A-AA baseball. I like it.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

I don't follow the draft at all anymore, but do they still draft a buncha college seniors in the top 10 rounds to save pool money and then draft guys in these rounds to go overslot?

I wouldn't expect Fristoe back... he needs some dedicated work to figure out his struggles. so talented.
KC is the question... would be great to get him back but who knows.

Doesn't everyone in rounds 11-20 have a $125,000 bonus limit per pick? Certainly you can offer less. I'm not sure. Maybe someone can clarify.

I found it on the internet. Players in rounds 11-20 can sign for up to $150,000 without counting against the team's bonus pool. If they sign for more than that, any amount over $150,000 counts against the team's bonus pool

Justin Bench of Ole Miss just drafted by the Giants. For obvious reasons, I assumed the Reds would draft him.

Now that JF is a pro, he will get a surgery and get right. No way he was helping MSU in 2023.

No way he went from Alex Lange 2.0 to what he became without an issue. He was even on the USA Collegiate Team a year ago.
