    Baseball Portal Transfer Update

Now that the US National Team is finished (they went 5-3 and captured bronze btw), is their an eta on Skenes announcement with regards to where he is transferring?

This was a hot topic 2 weeks ago but has since gone ice cold.

He intentionally put off a decision until National Team play concluded so I do assume that a decision will be coming. I figure he is waiting draft results and will then make a decision.

Agree he's probably got a decision to make with his family but he is not draft eligible this year but should be a 1st rounder next year. Two big concerns are (1) he was supposed to visit Arkansas at some point (before or after National Team play???) and (2) Bianco was leading the NT and could make some in-roads with him.

Just wait until the draft is over... then it's gonna pick up quickly.

I didn't say he was draft eligible. Where he lands will be based off who else is drafted at the schools he is considering. wait til mid next week and we will see more movement.

#2 = haha. All he could get them was a bronze. The kid wants gold. I predict us vs Arkansas. Hopefully that Fayetteville trip is canceled

Hopefully the Fayetteville trip happened before he left for the National Team b/c it was being talked about several weeks back. We seriously need him to pick the M over S.

On a positive note- unless something crazy happens- Luke will be our catcher this Spring

That's big news. Veteran player. Older players like him had big years this past season.

Just please PLEASE get him out of the 2/3 hole In The line up. He needs to be around 5th or 6th

I agree but that'll ultimately depend on how the transfers perform. The fall scrimmages will be worth paying to watch.

I'll take his OBP of .400 in the 2 hole in front of guys like Hines, Ledbetter, and others all day long.

Do I wish he could hit it for power a little more? Yes. But a guy like him could set the table for our big bats in a solid way.

    7 hole would be ideal.

The issue isn't that he gets on base. It's that he doesn't get enough hits.

Oh I completely agree. Would be nice for that batting average to be around .300 with some more extra base hits in there.

I'm hoping that's what our staff does this year is work with him on being a little more aggressive at the plate. But a .400 OBP in front of what we will have this year will allow him to score a lot of runs.
