Worst comes to worst he'll get in the portal and go to Ole Miss. Actually if I had to guess that's probably how this plays out in the end.

Manning would struggle to make the top 5 in Los Angeles. He played with and against oversized Pop Warner talent. Look and laugh at the players in the video attached?

I have no problem with giving a Manning two more stars. He's got the best QB mentorship & training that has likely ever existed. To say that his football IQ will be extremely high is putting it lightly.

While I agree that his physical ingredients are closers to a 3 star than 5 star, so were many other great QBs. The reality is that QB is the hardest position on Earth to evaluate, & the one where size, speed, strength, & quickness mean in the least. So why not give a kid that has every advantage known to man a couple extra stars?

Nix was a 5 star for goodness sakes.

The reason why you don't give a genetically inferior quarterback, related to Archie, Eli, and Peyton, extra stars is stars are supposed to be earned and not given especially if there could be 10 to 20 high school quarterbacks, in America better than the media darling.

Can you show me a link as to where it says they're supposed to be earned?

Stars are supposed to be a prediction of future success & draft status.

Let me ask you this: is there a QB in the country that you'd put $50,000 on having a better career than Manning?

Manning couldn't be this guys shoeshine boy. You will see it first hand because he is going to Tennessee. The same thing can be said of others in the Los Angeles area where real talent does not play Pop Warner type of ball. BTW Mater Dei HS won the national championship with a freshman who will even be better. Manning will be dwarfed by him also.

Noted. I'll make sure to revisit this in 7 years when all these guys are in the NFL. We'll see who the better player is

The biggest advantage to having family in that industry is the advanced knowledge. However, at the end of the day that is only one part of the equation. You still have to be able to perform as an athlete. Just because you have family that played pro sports and is a HOF player it doesn't mean that everyone in the family is going to be a great athlete at whatever sport. I know this firsthand. LOL.

If he's a 3 star talent he should be a 3 star recruit. The fact that he is some NFL QB's grandson or nephew is more of a novelty. Really- what are the odds of three generations being able to be a Pro Bowl/HOF caliber QB? I actually feel kind of bad for him because I can't imagine what kind of pressure he must be under.

Going to be intense and it's crazy because his dad wasn't even a QB, at least not once Peyton got old enough (not sure if he played high school qb and then moved to WR). He could be a really solid QB and not live up to the hype. And I expect UT people to turn on him over it.

Same here. A bonafide D1 stud sticks out like a sore thumb in high school ball. He was one of the better players on the field, but he doesn?t look any more athletic than Will Rogers or Altmeyer did in high school.

I think former Heritage Academy QB-Mack Howard ( now at Oxford High) is similar to him and Howard's best offers so far are Louisville and Memphis.

I have a feeling if somehow the stars aligned and Manning signed to play here that most of us here would be on a thread saying the exact opposite.

From a recruiting perception standpoint, yes. I watched the dude play twice last year, and meh. Mediocre arm, no mobility.

How do you think he would compete in upper tiered Atalanta or Los Angeles high school football. From afar it appears that he has not played anything but up-scaled Pop Warner ball. I haven't seen him in person, just video clips. He seems to move like a girl from my standpoint?

He'd start on name alone. His OL are topping out at 225 lbs. Cooper did a good job of sheltering him at a 1A equivalent school. Who knows how he'll develop, but physically, he's mediocre at best
