Pro players could only wish they had it so good. No salary caps on anything, no multi year contracts to prevent you from hitting the portal whenever you need a new deal, no draft to stick you with a school where you dont want to be before achieving free agency. Early entries for the draft may become a thing of the past because a lot of these guys will have it way better in college.

If I'm a stud player, who would I leave early for the draft? just shop yourself around and play your Sr year in college- you'll earn more than in the NFL. And, there's no guarantee that you'll get a 2nd contract in the NFL. So staying in college your Sr year = 5 years of pay, vs possibly just 4 if you went pro

$1.15B total NIL per year, 50% is football. So $575,000,000 for football, and $575,000,000 for everything else (gotta think Basketball makes up a ton of that). Honestly I'm SHOCKED half goes to non-football, I thought it would be lower. Wish there was a "baseball" breakdown so I can get an idea of whether we have a chance to compete by pooling our money there. If

The football NIL breaks down to 17,000 per D1 starter. Or 375,000 per school. But last year Bryce has $1,000,000 before ever taking a snap, and A&M is rumored to have spent $30,000,000. Point is, for the "average" to be $375k while these top doge shell out so much, it's clear there's a whole lot of lower level D1 schools that have practically nothing going. Probably over half if I had to guess.

Will be interesting to see hat happens moving forward I see no signs the NCAA will grow a pair and save this mess. I see all the signs that super conferences of elite teams are going to be the future. Right now, we have a 2 tier CFB- The P5, and the G5 that effectively have no path to a championship. In the future, I think we'll have 3 tiers; inject a "P5 have nots that aren't in a super conference" tier between the 2 we have now. Will State's SEC status drag us into tier 1 to be the punching bad of the rich schools with NIL money? Or will we be relegated to p5 have nots where we could genuinely compete as being the best of that group? Will we split into 2/3 "championship" tiers, or will there still be 1 championship game that half the most of the country has no path to make or win?

I'll be interested to see how it goes. If we can stay elite in Baseball I can swallow whatever path this goes. If we get outspent so much we realistically can't win a Natty in any sport at the "superconference" tier... Id rather drop a level to the "p5 have nots" and play real armature college sports again

This is exactly what I see happening and have been discussing it offline with CoachNorm. The question is, will we, and other teams in our situation, make the move and create the middle tier or will it be decided by the powers that be who see more tv revenue in Alabama vs. Michigan instead of Alabama vs. MSU or Ole Miss.

Its true that a rising tide raises all ships (SEC money) but the NIL tide added to that further separates the haves and have-nots.

The thing I fear the most is losing top talent and production off our roster every year.

There will be some irritated folks when MSU has a freshman AA transfer out simply because of more $$$$$$ somewhere else.

You all worry about shit that won?t happen if ever for years. Hell they cant even decide to add more teams to a playoff. Most of us will be pushing up Daisy?s and things will still be the same or boosters will get tired of wasting money on thugs who take the dough then transfer again.

Consider figuring who "THEY" will be in the near future. As far as the SEC is concerned, it will be ESPN. ESPN will be the new sheriff in town and will determine its own playoff parameters. The NCAA and organizations outside the new footprint of the ESPN league will not have a seat at the table. Likewise the BIG will be absorbed by Fox and its will be the other sheriff in town and will determine its own playoff parameters. Organizations outside of that new footprint will not have a seat at the table either. When ESPN and Fox crown their champions, they will play for the CFB championship. Playoffs will be determined in house with no outside input.

Be consistent with your usage of thugs. When a Black athlete makes a decision that eases his financial future he is a thug to you? But, when a bunch of White elitist prostitute their so called values for ESPN or Fox money, they are not thugs in the end game? They did not transfer one athlete, they transferred a whole program?

Wow. Way to go straight racist. I don't see anything in his post about race. It's usually racists that bring up race. You do realize the term "thug" is used for all colors, sex, etc...?

Frustration and speculation, I don't think anyone knows what's really going to happen with the NIL money or with conferences yet. We're just putting ideas out there and we're all pissed about the amount of money involved. Hopefully, there's clarification down the pipeline that will resolve this in a way that's fair to all schools.

I agree 100%. There needs to be some type of structure across the board. There should be a cap that is the same for all schools/athletes, and there needs to be some sort of transfer rule in place.

I agree. The transfer policy is the worst.

The identified thugs in question are college football players. Most college football players that will transfer will be Black and there is no way to escape that fact. After accurately identifying the thugs, all that has to happen is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic and all is well?

I know plenty thugs who are white and are really useless humans. If any recruit, regardless of color acts like a thug then I blame parenting or the lack of parenting. This is the main reason coaches at all levels preach "family" constantly as it often is the closest thing to what a family actually is for the players and that is real sad. Race has zero to do with being a useless parent or guardian and to then blame the kids outcome on somebody else.

I have donated more money to MSU the last 40 years than you will make in your pathetic lifetime.
