    Realignment - what if...

What if D1 evolves into four power conferences.

    SEC (18 teams)
    East
    - Alabama
    - Auburn
    - Clemson
    - Florida
    - Kentucky
    - Georgia
    - South Carolina
    - Tennessee
    - Vanderbilt

    West
    - Arkansas
    - Florida State
    - Miss State
    - Miss
    - LSU
    - Texas
    - Texas A&M
    - Oklahoma
    - Missouri

    BIG Ten (18 Teams)
    East
    - Indiana
    - Maryland
    - Michigan
    - Michigan State
    - Notre Dame
    - Ohio State
    - Penn State
    - Purdue
    - Rutgers

    West
    - Illinois
    - Iowa
    - Minnesota
    - Nebraska
    - Northwestern
    - Stanford
    - USC
    - UCLA
    - Wisconsin

    ACC (18 Teams)
    Division 1
    - Air Force
    - Boston College
    - Louisville
    - North Carolina
    - NC State
    - Syracuse
    - USF
    - Wake Forest
    - Coastal Carolina or Temple ?

    Division 2
    - Army
    - Duke
    - Georgia Tech
    - Miami
    - Memphis
    - Navy
    - Pitt
    - Virginia
    - Virginia Tech

    Big 12 (18 Teams)
    North
    - Cincinnati
    - BYU
    - Iowa State
    - Kansas
    - Kansas State
    - Oregon
    - Oklahoma State
    - Washington
    - Utah

    South
    - Arizona
    - Arizona State
    - Baylor
    - Cal
    - Houston
    - TCU
    - Texas Tech
    - UCF
    - West Virginia

This would leave several schools as outliers:
    - Boise State
    - Oregon State
    - Washington State
    - A bunch of California schools
    - Nevada
    - others?

The SEC east would be brutal! Also, I foresee Oregon weaseling into the Big 18, there probably needs to be another west coast time for scheduling purposes, plus Nike money.

The service academies will not be part of a "super conference" future, however it looks.

When thinking about this people need to only include schools who will eventually be okay with straight up paying football players like they're employees... Because they likely will be.

The Oregon politicians are trying to make it to where Oregon and Oregon state can't be separated. This is why Oregon may be left out

What's the chances of that passing? Seems short sighted, but politicians being stupid is nothing new.

Oregon to the SEC. Hawaii to the ACC. It will be like when the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons were in the NFC West with the LA Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.

That would be cool if it did. However it is going to be just two.... the SEC and B1G.

Then everyone else will be equivalent to "G5".

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss campus police ask students to behave at future baseball games following a recent incident.
The university said students were reportedly throwing rocks at Georgia baseball players during last weekend's series.

All these G5 schools are going to have to make a move. They will not be part of the super conference. There is enough of them they could get the NCAA involved for their NC and set up a play off system for them.

I'm not sure about that. As long as there are still names people remember, the third conference will get press by having one team dominate a weak competition and everybody will pretend they are on the same level as the top teams of the SEC and Big10(14? 18?) so that they can get crushed in a playoff. Occasionally, one of those teams will be like Clemson's better teams and actually be as good. The only challenge will be that if Fox is pushing Big 10 and ESPN pushing SEC, maybe they keep the perception of the third conference poor enough that there are just too few good recruits willing to go there, even if they get competitive NIL deals.

I think i agree with you. Whoever gets left out of the SEC and B1G, will get about as much tv coverage as UCF, Memphis, USM etc currently do. The leftovers will be on espn+ for the most part. However if they happen to have amazing seasons like UCF a few years back, you may get a game or two on one of the espn cable channels.
