Good call. Not extending any coach to the maximum sends a terrible signal to recruits that we don't believe in him.

agreed ... It also might help keep the coach from shopping himself but is an almost absolute must for recruiting
OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss campus police ask students to behave at future baseball games following a recent incident.
The university said students were reportedly throwing rocks at Georgia baseball players during last weekend's series.

Leach shopping? Does Key West have a football team? Ain't no one interested in him. Nothing to worry about.

Sure
If he has a good year this year he will get plenty of interest.

Leach is at end of career. He got no real looks at WSU. Everyone knows he is a gemic scheme and he doesn't fit the culture today (he don't bother me but he does some).
He can win 10 games this year and there will be little interest.

Also increases how much you have to pay him if things don't work out.

Why wouldn't we extend him? We showed pretty significant improvement from year 1 to year 2. Had some good wins over AU and AM. 2 bad calls away from being a 9 win team.

Good post. Recruits needed to see this.

In the era of transfer portal and NIL this means nothing anymore. A coach can be fired in the middle of contracts and players leave when they want. Stupid move if you ask me.

We shouldn't keep a coach where this is a legitimate worry. Either we believe in a coach and show that by giving him the maximum extension, or we don't and we make a change.

Extend him? Sure. Give him a raise? No.

This was warranted. He improved at a fairly decent rate last year. I still say we win 8 or 9 games this year with Egg Bowl win.

Leach is simply too eccentric for a lot of fan bases.
He's not going to be at every MSU thing and be ra ra MSU like Coach O and Lane Kiffin are.

That's because he ain't a leg hound like those 2. He just sits and sips and minds his own business.

He'd rather sit down with you and talk about some obscure Supreme Court decision and how it effected avocado farming in the 1950s.
