If OM wins it, they will be the ONLY baseball national champion to not play a top 8 seed in the CWS. Only 3 others getting to the finals have done that, but all 3 of those played a top 8 team in the finals.

2022 OM has literally the easiest CWS schedule ever for a finalist.

The overall team strength of the 2022 CWS teams is the second weakest since the Super Regional format started in 1999.

In 2021 CWS State played the #2 and #4 overall seeds and beat them both twice. In 2022 CWS, OM has only played a #14 seed just once and beat them. They played no other seeded teams.

They also got to play a mid major in their Super Regional.

They beat a National seed in a regional. Not sure how that doesn't count. And it's not there fault they beat everyone they played. I hate them. Despise them. But the not playing anyone thing really should be put to bed.

Yeah all the trips to Omaha are cool and all, but only winning it all once speaks volumes to the delusion some of our fan base lives in. OM has been just asking good as State in baseball for a long time. If you don't win it all, making the trip is meaningless. Now if they win, what will we tell ourselves to keep the fake air of superiority now?

We are 21-14 last ten years if I counted correctly. They have a good program and usually a good team. But they are not just as good as us. Overall our program is better and has more prestige associated with it. They just had a better team this year. Also. making the trip to Omaha is not meaningless if you don't win it all. It's hard to make it there and is a great accomplishment. If you can't get there, you sure as heck ain't winning it. I would rather make it. You think it makes recruiting better if your school goes to Omaha? You better believe it! So it's not meaningless. Have little more pride, we are still the better program in baseball, whether OM wins it all or not.

Will they be rebuilding next year? Don't know much about their roster, except 3 good seniors came back.
