    0-0 Counts

The biggest problem I see with our offense is the fact we are not swinging at first pitch strikes. I feel like we watch meat pitches get thrown early in counts without jumping on them. Anybody else noticing this? Curious others thoughts. I feel like we wait to swing once we are behind in counts. It's like we are intentionally trying to run up pitch counts.

Except we ground out with a 0-1 count.

I thought we have been doing a lot better this year than years past about being too agressive. How many times has an opposing pitcher been at like 40 pitches through 5-6 innings on us…

Remember, the offense can’t do what it needs cause when your down 8-10 runs you tend to press… Then bad shit happens…

You guys are stat masters much more than me. Our batting avg for the past weekend's starting lineup was very impressive but:

How are we hitting with runners in scoring position?

Someone mentioned here that we may lead the league in HR, but most are solo shots. Is this correct to date.

Pitching is 14th in many stats as we all know. We may lead the SEC in K's but also in walks, hit by pitch, wild pitches, etc.

How in the world are we 14th in fielding? One of our infielders whose great glove has kept him in the lineup and played great in the NC games had 4 errors I think in two games alone against vandy.

What in the world are we coaching or doing in practice?

I think we've drawn more walks than anybody in the conference. Our strikeout numbers are down too.

USCe comes in top 10 and 23-2. But we hit for a higher average than then and strike out way less than them, 3 times per game less. We also steal more bases.

Our problem is pitching and to a lesser degree defense.

Hujsak got bailed out of his at bat with a walk. 0-0 he swung at the worst pitch of the at bat. A slider that ended up in the left handed batters box.

In that situation, you have to know or have been coached that you aren't swinging at anything first pitch breaking. And it was an awful pitch too.

It's that kind of stuff that's not showing up in the stats but can affect the game significantly that we aren't doing well in.
