Gonna go like most of our losses this season and lose in the 7th?
-
Now its bases loaded... and 3rd pitcher of inning. 1 out
-
Game would be over if not for the walk and mistake by Davidson.

-
Getting out of that with only 1 run allowed was pretty big. Just walk it off here

Thankful they've given me a sport to watch in late May/June. We needed this after the sports' year we've had.
And it doesn't look like we're going to hold the lead........Bases juiced, one out.........Walk, catcher interference and infield hit........One thing is for sure, we need to upgrade our pitching....It's been our achilles for several years now.......

I am about ready to get a backhoe and dig up them damn Indian bones!!!! This is ridiculous!

Really surprised we didn't sacrifice there.

Just like baseball. Cant get a timely hit and walks and mistakes cost you the game.

Losing to a pitcher with 157 pitches under her belt is bad omen. Great season though.

Somebody help me out…unless the rule for softball is different from baseball how can you get obstruction on a defender that is making a play of the ball? The batter bunts, the catcher bounces out in an effort to make a play on the ball and makes contact with the batter/runner. By definition, and based on what they put on the screen that is NOT obstruction. If anything the batter/runner should be out and the base runner remains at first. And the ump definitely called obstruction based on the signal he gave after the review.
-
Unless there is something written in about the fact that the runner was in the box…I’m not currently aware of such a rule. For example if the hunt was up the first baseline and the first baseman came in to make a play and the runner makes contact they are then out for interference.
-
To be fair to the ladies, they only left 11 on base through 8 innings. The men left small villages on base in single innings multiple times. In fact, if you go over to Dudy Noble right now, you will see skeletal remains at each base.

We suck defensively minus a couple girls and only have three or four hitters really. We pissed that away big time. Interference, error, bad pitching change.

We checked a lot of MSU sports misery fan boxes today. The Indians had fun with us.

We're always gonna be down a couple of pitchers and hitters compared to our competition, it's just life at MSU sports.

So here is the quote from Coach Ricketts after the game: "?When they put that first replay on the board, it was pretty obvious that Mia had made contact with the runner. By rule, since Mia did not make a play it was obstruction,? Ricketts said. ?It?s unfortunate that there?s nothing in the rule book that she stood in the box for about three seconds but by the rule book that is correct. In all my years of coaching and playing I?ve never seen that happen.?
So it sounds like if Mia had been the one that had gotten to the ball and threw the runner out it would not have been interference but since she made contact with the runner and didn't make the play on the ball it was. I believe it was our pitcher that actually made the fielding play.

Sad but true. I get tired of being the underdogs and having to do more with less and "coach up" developmental players.
