IMO it will only get fixed when nontraditional football schools with more money than Bama, etc. start putting together super teams and start taking the blue bloods’ candy so to speak. For example, what if Harvard, Yale, Stanford types decided to organize some of those billionaires and top 25 in football started looking like it did back in the 1920’s? I think there would suddenly be a lot of discussion about doing something.

FYI Texas A&M and Texas are going to be able to put together the best NIL packages in the SEC .
    Sounds like you were right...

Jimbo has to prove he can actually develop players though - considering he already wrecked a ready-made machine, I don't know that on paper will matter.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

Just wait till Hugh Freeze starts signing some 5 Stars at Liberty. Liberty can come up with more $ than MSU, Ole Miss and USM combined.

I am anticipating that University of Texas will be the highest paying school in D1 with nobody else close. Global Scale for Medical School, Law School, Politicians, Business School, Oil & Gas, Rich Widows, and Tech.

They may never play really well, but money won't be a problem in Austin.

I don’t think so. You gave to do less developing the more 5 stars you get.

Jimbo Fisher got his panties in a wad then Ross Bjork made a fool of himself as well. What Saban said is totally true under NIL guidelines.

The best system would be the old system without the NCAA rules.

Just let old rich people pay players money to play football out of their own pocket.

It’s the Mike Slive system and it’s smart. At least we would all know we aren’t going on probation.

There?s no way this can be sustained. Only one team can win it all every year, so many donors aren?t going to be happy with the return on their investment. After 3 or 4 years, the money being put into paying athletes is going to fall rapidly.

Saban said he didn't buy any of their players.

Reasonable and Fair Salary Caps combined with NIL would cure so much of what has been plaguing college sports for decades. If a player gets caught taking under the table he looses a year of eligibility and team loses schollies for 2 years and year one no NIL recruiting enticements.

I don't like Fisher but Saban is a complete arrogant hypocrite crybaby. Not long ago bragged on Bryce getting 1mil? I've never seen such a poor loser as Saban. He fits Bama like a glove though as the entire fan base is the same way.

Didn't Alabama have a QB making 1M last year? Would he have come to Bama otherwise?
