    Food for thought

When the Mike Leach experiment fails, these are my two choices in order.

    1)Blake Anderson
    2)Jamey Chadwell

Let's pump the breaks on the Leach era failing. This year should be a good year for us and not only that he has been successful at every stop. If we do part ways it won't be before 2025 unless we totally tank in 22 and 23.
I will say this Anderson should have been a front runner in 20 before we hired Leach and possibly should have been after Mullen.

Yeah pump the brakes. Lets hope for one good year out of Leach - this year. We need it more than ever.

But over the long haul, Leach's crap ain't gonna work. It has holes everywhere.

It's literally worked everywhere he's been and the offense saw just as much improvement last year in year 2 as it saw in every other stop in his career year 2. It will show improvement this year too, just like it has everywhere else. Our defense and special teams cost us a chance at winning 9 games last year, not the offense.

It seem from the reports (no inside info) that Sawyer is starting to push Will. That will make both better and set us up for a few more years.

Yea he's the clear #2 and has better arm strength and mobility. Will is still way ahead mentally though. I think next year will be a real competition, but from what I've heard Will has taken a step his own self.

You may very well turn out to be right in the end, but to this point there isn't a shred of evidence to indicate it's the most likely outcome. You all claiming it is have been fooling yourselves going on three years now.

What worries me most about Leech is he doesn't seem willing to "adapt." This is an issue with many coaches, they are hard headed, look at Crooms and Joe Lee Dunn, they wouldn't change. Saban proved he was willing to change as did the Bear decades ago.

Leach won 11 games 3 years ago. He improved dramatically in every offensive statistical category from year 1 to year 2. I do believe he could benefit by adding some more to his offense, but it's going to be good enough to win as many games here as any other coach we've had. Our defense and special teams need to improve as much this year as our offense did last year.

Leach will be here 20 years, finish ranked several times, and go to the CF HoF. And I'm sure the usual suspects will be bitching about him the whole time.

Define "work," bc we've never had anybody be better than a 7-5 regular season coach over the long haul.

If you fire Leach, and btw we are nowhere remotely close to that, I'd wager a decent amt of money on the top name being Matt Mumme or Sonny Cumbie. For our roster to not have to go into a full rebuild you will need a guy from the Air Raid coaching tree.

I think discussing prospective coaches is never a bad thing. This doesn't mean anyone wants the current coach to fail, but very few coaches go off into happy retirement, most are fired to end their career. All ADs keep of current list or prospective head coaches for ever sport, even the ADs and Bama and Clempson for the day Saban and Dabo are no longer on the sidelines. Certainly in Saban's situation it will be of his own accord, but very few coaches are afforded that.

Oh goodie. Two more choice coaches to lead us to 7-5 records with an 8-4 the years we scratch our a victory over Ole Miss.

We ARE who they say we ARE!

We WILL be who they say we WILL Be!

If ya can?t get on board with mediocre, Cohen can go out and hire a 6-6 or 5-7 guy.

Womens Basketball and Baseball are our two best hopes because more than 2/3 of the country doesn?t give a crap about either one. We came close twice in W basketball and kicked the door down after 3 straight trips to Omaha.

State is cannon fodder for the Elite programs and even the Johnny Rebs are starting to rebuild their 20 plus win lead on us in football.

Should have built the school in Hattiesburg or metro Jackson 115 years ago. Instead of in a farming pasture in the second poorest part of the State. Not fighting to get the Toyota Plant and the Tire Plant in the Golden Triangle was a Colossal failure as well. We need a 10,000 job industry to build in Oktibbeha County to get some new blood in and create high paying jobs. Maybe someone can build incorruptible voting machines in the area to sell to all 50 states!

Leach has beaten 3 teams that were clearly more talented than us (LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn), 2 more who finished ranked (Kentucky and NC State).

He also had 2 more who 100% expected to beat us and were lined up to finish ranked had they done so (Missouri, Tulsa).
