Chance this weekend for the SEC West to tighten

UPig is leading the West and that likely will not change this season. They play Mississippi at home so they should win at least 2/3. However, there could be some tightening with the rest of us this weekend

11-7 Auburn @ Tenn. I dont see that going well for Auburn
    11-8 A&M @ Vandy. Game 1 went to A&M
Georgia @ 10-8 LSU. Should be a good series
9-10 Bama @ SC. SC took Game 1 last night.
8-10 State @ Mizzou. We need 2/3 at worst.

Mississippi is 6-12 and with their remaining schedule- unlikely to make Hoover.

Loved our approach last night. Team looked different last night. And Brandon Smith has been pretty good so far.

Find a way to sweep this weekend and things could get very interesting. Auburn has an extremely difficult schedule to end the year. We get TAMU still and control some things there.

RPI only moved up 1 spot after yesterday. Missouri dropped 11 spots. So that doesn't quite help. But find a way to get to 11-10 this weekend and we very much have a road to get in a regional. And I still don't think anyone wants us as a 3 seed in their regional.

I like our chances Sunday. Today just sucked, but win tomorrow and we still have a chance. Hard to sweep especially in the Sec.

It was likely the season pattern would repeat itself.

Agreed. Sometimes these kinda days happen in baseball. PJ let the bad strike zone get him. Thankfully we have Cade doing tomorrow and we haven't used any of our better arms in first 2 games. We've still got pico and KC behind Cade. Missouri pitching is not good and I believe we'll score at least 7-8 tomorrow. Keep winning series!

It was an awful day. Kinda like our season has gone but winning 2 out of 3 is still the goal. Seems every weekend has come down to a “must” win Sunday.

This pretty much sums it up. Luckily getting beat that bad only counts for one loss and the only momentum in baseball is tomorrow's starting pitcher lol.

Cc24, once again you being a baseball coach, understand the ups and downs. Like you’ve said several times this game ain’t like football or basketball. We still are in the position to make a regional. Win tomorrow and we ar one step closer to reaching a regional.
You have to have a very short memory and get ready for Sunday, pretty sure Cade will compete.

Is hard as it is if you're a baseball coach or player you have to try to stay as even keeled as possible. Panic and desperation only exacerbate the problems. Stay cool and compete the next pitch. And I'm as intense as they come on the field. I hate losing with a passion, but you can't let emotion control your decisions. You've got a plan, stick to it. You do that you'll be successful.

I'm confident Cade's gonna get it done, and we've got some good arms left backing him up tomorrow, too. We're gonna score some runs too.

Missouri dropped 8 spots after pounding us to #46. We fell 1 spot to #77, which unfortunately is last in the sec

This year the only thing that has been consistent is MSU being inconsistent.

Auburn has a real chance to catch Arkansas in the west and grab that 1 seed in Hoover. However, it will be a tall hill and will require some help. OM could beat Arkansas today. Auburn could beat Tennessee today. Mostly likely though, Arkansas and Tennessee dig deep and both win at home. That puts 2 games between Arkansas and Auburn with a head to head match up next week on The Plains. After that, AU has Bama and UK to end the season. Ark....Vandy and Bama. Auburn will probably close to within a game to finish but.....Tennessee and Arkansas will have 1 seeds in Hoover.

Down at the bottom.....I bet State and OM make the SEC tournament. Both State and OM have games with Missouri left and can put MIssouri in real danger of missing the SEC with wins today and next weekend. Kentucky has a very tough schedule to end the season....UT, an improving USC and Auburn. Ouch. UK may pick up 2 more wins. They aren't making it. Missouri has today, OM, Florida, UGA....probably 3 more wins. OM has to win 2 of 3 next weekend and win 2 more from there.

State...must must must win today. WIn 2/3 vs UF. Then scratch out one game vs aTm and UT. WE can NOT....lose today and get sweep at aTm or vs UT. A win today. 2 of 3 at home v UF and one v aTm and UT isn't to much to ask.

Actually, I think it is with this group. I just don?t think we can count on pitching & hitting to work in conjunction with this bunch. 6-8 runs, like we scored yesterday, should be enough to win. Missouri scored more than that in 1 inning. That is an embarrassment that our coaches could find and count on 1 stopper in that inning. State still didn?t score enough to win even without that 9!run inning. But the decision making of this staff has been baffling this year. It is like 44 games in and they STILL don?t know who they can count on.

Yep ... problem is even if we somehow manage to make a regional we probably won't make it any further... it becomes more or less just a moral victory. I know teams can get hot at the right time but our inconsistency won't allow us to make it out of the regional.... but I still support our guys no matter what.... especially after the ride they gave us last year
OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss campus police ask students to behave at future baseball games following a recent incident.
The university said students were reportedly throwing rocks at Georgia baseball players during last weekend's series.

We could have brought in KC yesterday to stop the bleeding. But we didn't because we had thrown in the towel. We were playing for today.

With that said, as fish said, we are playing for a bid right now. Just get a bid. If we lose today, ..... well hopefully we don't.
