Basketball Update- Stands is now 10-9 at WK
He is now the worst modern history coach at Western Kentucky. He has to win the Conference Tourney to make the NCAA Tourney. Expect a firing before long
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

He has Standing offers at Butler and Xavier.

Glad to see you comment on a C USA team's game but nothing to say after we win the declared must win.
Sucks for you that you don't get to be miserably correct tonight about not liking a coach ! Great thread. Very helpful for the board !

He's 113-69 (.621) and 60-32 (.652) in conference. His predecessor Ray Harper was 90-63 (.588) and 42-34 (.553) there.

Harper also had 2 NCAA appearances in 5 seasons at WKU. Stans has 0 at WKU.

Interesting. Don't understand the Stans hate. He is a good coach. Imagine his record would be a little better if he had Tolu.

So you're saying he's coming home after Howland retires*

Interesting.. That would put his run now at 8 straight years ( not counting covid year )
Yeah the natives there have to be getting very restless because
Outside of la tech and uab that’s a rather shitty league

What a weird, obsession-based thread.

That would be a nightmare. I hope you are only saying that to rile 34 up

If howland does retire, I think I'd at least interview Casey Alexander at Belmont

Both of which were bc he won the conference tourney. But he has won less than Stans as pointed out above.
Nobody goes to the ncaa tourney at WKU without winning the conference tourney. It's happened once in 35 years and not at all in 28 years, and you have to go back 7 coaches for the last time it happened.
If we are going to say all that matters is ncaa appearances, which is fine, we are also saying Stans time at state (6 in 14 years) >>> better than anybody in modern history.

Greg Marshall still intrigues me.

C34 is the puppet master when it comes to bringing out the passion and motivation of the Rick Rowdies..

All that matters in any SEC Athletics is NCAA Tournament Championships, Appearances, Playoffs, New Years 6 Bowl Games and CWS. Liberty Bowls and NIT games are for bottom feeders.
Howland and Stansbury both have the same issue when they need to win a game
that they should win they usually dont.

Your last sentence doesn't jive with your first.
If ncaa tourney appearances matter, and I agree they do, stans had 6 in 14 years.
