Any news on wr coach?
Is it down to the 3? Internal guy Hollings, Peeler( I believe), or Bump.
Who would you want? Or is it someone different?
-
Nobody really knows who's all involved. Those are 3 logical candidates. So would Graham Harrell or David Yost.
-
I would not be surprised if Harrell come in as an OC type coach for Leach…

That would be great if it happened.
-
I doubt seriously Leach has even thought about it.
-
Do you foresee an instance where Leach decides to act as the CEO type and brings a Harrell in to set him up as the head coach in waiting?
-
He coached WRs for Leach at Washington State.
Got promoted to OC and QB coach at North Texas and was there for 3 years until he got promoted to OC and QB coach at USC.
Wasn't retained with the new staff. Leach pays attention to a lot. I can guarantee you he's at least spoken to Harrell. Dude played QB for Leach and coached for Leach. So he's definitely been in contact.
Would be a great hire.

Don't count on it... he had his opportunity during bowl prep and game prep and didn't pass the eye test.
That's one reason ML is headed to the coaching convention to interview candidates
I was told mis year to look for GH to be a candidate for a position coach here
-
I just think this guy needs to be able to recruit. How hard is to teach what leach wants for inside receivers. Surely that can be learned. Is Harrell a go getter in recruiting?

That's what I'm hoping for.

Peeler is a go getter.
-
One would think Leach saw what his old QB Cumby did to him a few nights ago, and would try to hire a guy like Harrell to come in and help adapt the offense a little. But knowing Leach, that hasn't even crossed his mind. So I expect us to hire someone else.
-
I want Bump. I could be happy with Peeler if he comes to town with vengeance on his mind.
-
My wish list
1. Bump - Would kill it recruiting & wants to be here. A long term option
2. Peeler - A proven commodity as a WR Coach & Recruiter Instate
3. Harrell - Would just be a 1yr rental IMO. He's a play caller & he knows that will never happen with Leach
-
I’m hoping we are waiting for Utah’s bowl game to be over and then announce bump

We need another guy with MS ties on the on-field staff. Seems like a no-brainer.
