So Nichols is out, do we keep Surrier?

Seems Nichols is gone to USC. Do we lose both receiver coaches. Wonder who replaces him. Is Bump on the short list?

Sorry for the title if someone can correct Spurrier.

I know that a lot of people want it to be Bump but I would look for Dave Yost to be a top target. Was with Leach for a number of years at Wazzu

Per Google, "Dave Yost" - Utah State's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach

Did not realize we were the type of program that our position coaches got hard looks at p5 HC gigs after 4-6, 7-5 seasons.

I keep hearing Bumphis' name come up. Is he a coach somewhere?

This position needs to be a recruiter.

There?s speculation that Duke might be shaking the Spurrier tree. Like father, like son type stuff. From that stand point, although he?d be a big loss, that is sorta cool if it plays out.
Isn?t Coach Yost the state champion winning, hall of fame nomination that lost the hall because he stood up for his team and Coach Boone at TC Williams? If so, he has my vote. 😉

As much as I would love to have Bump on staff, doesn't this position require someone with several years in the system to teach its intricacies?

Nah... Run fast, turn quick, stop in a hurry, ball hits hands, hands catch ball, run fast again.

Pretty sure Leach?s receiver training is ?see grass, get to grass. See ball, catch ball. Rinse repeat.?

Agree. This spot has got to recruit and love doing it, especially if Spurrier possibly takes a head coaching job.

Bump is a smart guy. He could learn the system. His recruiting, especially in state, would be huge.
